Hi,
Yes it is mandatory to give CUCET for admission into college this year.
CUCET will be a mandatory entrance test for admissions into central universities in India. As of now, there are 54 central universities in India. The 54 Central Universities together offer close to 1.68 Lac seats under various disciplines at the undergraduate level. The admissions to most universities to be done based on merit (class XII marks) will come under the purview of CUET. The participating universities will offer admissions in some of their top courses through CUET.
However, for Stephen’s, you have to not just register for DU admissions on the DU website, but also separately apply for St. Stephen’s on their own website and also fill up their lengthy application form.
Hope this helps.

No, it's not at all compulsory that aspirants of CLAT or AILET need to give CUCET, first of all let's understand more detailed about each of these entrance tests;
CLAT is top most integrated law exam, its scores are accepted by various NLUs, and many other top governments and private colleges, its eligibility criteria is passed 10+2 from a recognized board in any stream securing 45% aggregate, there is relaxation of 5% for SC/ST,
CLAT is conducted for two hours carrying 150 MCQs, each question is for one mark, and 0.25 mark is deducted for each incorrect attempt. It consists of sections such as comprehension-based questions from English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning , Quantitative Techniques
Next, AILET is conducted by NLU, Delhi and when it comes to entrance test it's conducted for 90 minutes carrying 150 MCQs, for each correct answer one mark is awarded, and 0.25 mark is deduced, there are mainly three sections such as English Language, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning, visit our page at https://law.careers360.com/exams/ailet to know more details regarding this.
Finally, CUCET is conducted for admission to various central universities, last year a total of 12 were participating, and this year Delhi University, and JNU, Delhi are also participating, so if you're interested in seeking admission in any of the central university which offers integrated law courses then you may consider appearing for CUCET, otherwise there are other options such as state level law entrance tests such as SET/LSAT/CUSAT/ PU BA-LLB or BCom-LLB/KLEE/AP LAWCET/TS LAWCET/MAH CET LAW to name a few, visit our page at https://www.careers360.com/exams/cucet to know more details regarding this.
Dear aspirant,
The cut off range for the central universities are generally high but this doesn't mean that can't be achieved but you need to follow proper strategy for that.
Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper .
