I am a student of class X (science) & will appear for ICSE this 2022. I study in a boarding school. I want to appear for NEET. In my school there is no facility for NEET coaching. Should I change my curriculum to CBSE from class XI in a day school or continue in ICSE in my present school.

monstwerdash 26th Dec, 2021

Hello there,

Hope you are doing well . See, broadly the syllabus for the NEET examination is the 11th and 12th standard syllabi followed in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that mainly constitutes the content and chapters given in Biology ,Physics and Chemistry N.C.E.RT. books .

Now , as far as your second question is concerned, you are just in 10th standard now and have your 11th and 12th standards i.e. 2 years for the preparation of the NEET examination. That's indeed a great deal of time . Also, nowadays the questions framed in the exam are very much from the prescribed NCERT books with rarely any question from outside the syllabus. So, you can very easily prepare for the exam on your own through self-study . Also , in this digitalized era many courses and online test series are available that will boost your preparation and help in strengthening your concepts .

So,it's totally upto you if you want to change your school or not . If you want to join any offline coaching as well ,you can do that staying in your present school . But,yes you'll have  some benefit of changing into the CBSE curriculum because NCERT is strictly followed here that will help you for your NEET preparation.

Bit mainly everything depends on your own self studies, dedication and hard work in the upcoming 2 years . If you are able to sail through without any distractions, you'll definitely crack the exam with flying colours . Also , I'll list some pointers below that you should keep in mind:

Stick to NCERTs whatsoever!(I can't stress this enough) ,specially for biology ,organic and inorganic chemistry. There's no need to do theory from anywhere else for these subjects/topics .

Practice ample no. of questions from standard practice books like MTG . Then revise it multiple times . Don't switch sources without completing the earlier .

Read and revise biology NCERT word to word and practice all diagrams ,flowcharts and tables as many times as you can .

Give ample no. of mock tests of standard coaching institutes in a time bound manner and make a mistake book in which you'll write all your mistakes while analysing the paper .

Also, do practise atleast the past 10 years question papers . That's going to be a boost to your preparation.

Don't get distracted ! For this time ,get rid of all your distraction .

Know about your body clock and have a proper sleep-wake cycle . Your health is of prime importance during the preparation. Also have proper and healthy meals regularly.

You can also join some online or offline classes for learning and strengthening concepts and topics .But always give your self-study the prime importance.

These are the main pointers that you should keep in mind . This should help you in cracking NEET, whichever year you are giving ,with flying colours .

Also, I'll provide you with a link where you'll find some very useful resources for your NEET preparation:

What is defference between regular courses and self finance course in jmi University? is selfe finance courses provide hostal facilities, sports complex facilities also extra curriculum activities as same as regular courses?? Plzz anybody solve my quary ...??

Sourav Sarkar 6th Dec, 2021

Dear Jabir,

I guess that you are speaking about Jamia University. In Jamia University the main and only existing difference between regular courses and self financed courses is in the fees structure. Regular course is aided by the Government of India and the university doesn't have to put their own fund to teach you and provide facilities like hostel, sports, complex, hostel, etc. In self financed this are provided by the University itself spending it's own funds and thus the fees os self financed course is more. Hope this clears your doubt.
