Sir please help me out please Im a pwd candidate and preparing for neet I have retinitis pigmentosa and have 40% low vision disability and I can do all my work properly with specs what are my chances of becoming doctor mean can I do mbbs from it please help me out

Sajal Trivedi 1st Apr, 2025

Hii There,

Despite the obstacles you face, it's fantastic that you're working toward your goal of becoming a doctor.  Your perseverance is incredibly admirable!  Yes, you are eligible to pursue an MBBS under the Person with Disability (PWD) category even though you have a 40% low vision disability.  The inclusion of PWD candidates in medical education is supported by guidelines issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI), which is now the National Medical Commission (NMC).  When you are admitted to MBBS, you will need to pass a medical fitness test after passing NEET.

The candidate's ability to manage the rigors of clinical procedures and medical training is guaranteed by the fitness requirements.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks

Sir... I am pursuing my Doctor of Pharmacy and i am in third year of college ... whether am I eligible for CAT exam for join how can we apply

Divyanshi Priya 22nd Mar, 2025

Hello there,

Yes, you can apply for CAT examination after completion of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) .

The Common Admission Test (CAT) has no restrictions regarding your educational background thus allowing you to submit your application following your completion of a Pharm. D degree.

The Common Admission Test permits candidates to take the exam after completing any undergraduate degree without any restrictions to the area of study. The professional doctoral degree of Pharm. D (Doctor of Pharmacy) functions as an equivalent to bachelor's level for CAT eligibility recognition.

Therefore, Candidates who received their Pharm. D degree can pursue the CAT exam application process based on their qualification standards.

Hope this will help!

Prachi Kumari 18th Mar, 2025

Hello,

Yes, there are many career options other than becoming a doctor. If you are interested in the medical field but don’t want to study for so many years, you can go for options like nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, medical lab technology, radiology, or biotechnology . These careers take less time to complete and still offer good opportunities.

If we do BSc. Anaesthesiology and then MD Anesthesia, are we called a doctor? And what all career options are open after that?

Tanya Gupta 17th Mar, 2025

Hello,

A BSc in Anaesthesiology followed by an MD in Anesthesia does not grant the title of "doctor" in the medical sense unless you have completed an MBBS. The MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Anesthesia is typically pursued after MBBS, making one a qualified anesthesiologist. However, with a BSc and MD in Anesthesia, you can work as an anesthetist, clinical researcher, or educator in medical institutions. Career options include hospital-based anesthesia practice, pain management specialist, critical care roles, and working in surgical centers. You can also explore opportunities in medical writing, healthcare administration, or advanced certifications in anesthesia technology.

Hello sir /mem what is resident doctor. How we become a resident doctor How we become a senior resident doctor Or it is compulsory to become a resident doctor . If I am pursuing my pg mdms course then after 3 year it is compulsory to become resident doctor or reside in hospital

Mitali Sharma 5th Mar, 2025

Hello

A resident doctor is a medical graduate (MBBS) who is undergoing postgraduate training (MD/MS or DNB) in a hospital .

Here’s a breakdown :

To Become a Resident Doctor

After completing MBBS, doctors must clear the NEET-PG exam to get admission into a PG program (MD/MS/DNB).

Once admitted , they work in a hospital as junior resident doctors while pursuing their specialization.

Senior Resident Doctor

After completing MD/MS (3 years) , a doctor can apply for a senior resident position in government or private hospitals.

Some may also pursue super-specialization (DM/MCh).

Compulsory to become a Resident Doctor

Yes , if you are doing MD/MS , you will be a junior resident during the course.

After completing MD/MS , working as a senior resident is optional but recommended for experience.

PG students have to stay in the hospital

Most medical colleges require PG students to stay on campus or be available for emergency duties .

Residency is an essential part of postgraduate medical training .

Hope this gives you the clarity you need.
