average height of satellite of mass 220kg above earth surface is 640km .it is losing its mechanical energy at a rate of 1.42×10raise to power 5 j in each revolution now answer 1 initial orbital speed 2 height of satellite after 1500 round 3 average regarding force on satellite

JAYA KARTHIKA RS 12th Sep, 2020

Hello,

a)Distance from earth's centre = 6400 + 640=7.04 x 10^6m

Now,

mv^2/r= GMm/r^2

V =   √GM/r  = √56.8 x 10^6

= 7.56 x 10^3 ms ^-1

(B) Total energy after 1500 rounds = Initial energy - Energy loss

= - GMm/2r- 1.42 x 10^5x 1500

=(- 6253-0213) x 10^9

= -6.466 x 10^9J

So, r = - GMm/- 6.466 x 10^9

= 6808 km

Its height above the earth's surface = 6808-6400

= 408 km

(C) Average retarding force, |F |=| dU/dr|

F = Energy loss/Distance

= 1.42 x 10^5/ 2 x 3.14 x 6.924 x 10^3 = 3.3 x 10^-3N

Hope it helps

what is the exact shape of the earth in short

Sushree Sangita Sethi 27th Aug, 2020

Hello,

I hope u r safe and doing well.

So, Earth is an irregular shape with mountains , oceans and many more particles. Its shape has no particular name .It is unique shape neither we can call round or oval. This shape is very difficult to model mathematically. The most accurate would be oblate spheroid. With gps and from other satellite scientists can measure upto centimetres only.

I hope this helps u.

the time period of a satellite of earth is 5h if the separation between the Earth and the satellite is increased to 4 times the previous value the new time period will become ?

Mounika Sonti 3rd Jul, 2020

Hello!!!

Hope you are doing great!!!

From Kepler's Third law,

T^2 is directly proportional to R^3

=(T1/T2)^2 = (R1/R2)^3

=(T1/T2)= (R1/R2)^3/2 = (1/4)^3/2

=T2/T1 = (4)^3/2

=8

=T2 = 8*T1

=8*5

=40hrs

Hope it helps!!

while earth do motion we is not percieve?how is water up and down side change to side?

Soumili Majumdar 10th Jun, 2020
Hello there,
We know that the Earth rotates on its axis and also revolves around the sun, but, we cannot feel the motion. This is because the Earth spins at a constant speed. Also, the speed is very high. If the speed suddenly increased or decreased, we would have surely felt the difference.
For example, imagine you are in a car or a train which is running very fast, and also on a smooth surface. Then you would not feel much motion. Or, imagine yourself in an aeroplane. You don't feel motion there because it's moving with a high speed.
That's why we cannot feel the motion of the Earth.
Hope this answer helps you.
Thank you!

Among the five subjects 5 subjects

1. Life sciences - the syllabus of the entrance is based on the major topics of life sciences.

2. earth, atmosphere, ocean & planetary science - syllabus covers the topics related to earth, environment, atmosphere etc.

3. physical science  - syllabus includes physics

4. mathematical sciences - syllabus includes mathematics

5. chemical sciences - syllabus includes chemistry.

So with environmental science the subject earth, atmosphere, ocean & planetary science will be.more related so if you want you can select this subject.

what is a earth. how are make the sun

Shivang Dubey 13th May, 2020

Hey

Billion of years ago, there was no solar system it was dust and gas particles floating in the space, once a star exploded ( supernova) that created gas particles which collapsed due to high forces of gravity and so it formed into a solar nebula, wherein a huge spinning like ring structure with particles revolving around in the ring.

Gradually the center part started evolving and a hot nucleus like Sun was formed wherein the particles in the ring started condensing and collapsing to form solid and huge rocks. Slowly the solid rocks started cooling and the one of the rock became Earth and others were the planet of Solar System, some rings couldn't form a rock structure but a gaseous giant like Jupiter. This happened around 4.5-5 billion years ago.
