Deciding on a postgraduate (PG) course after completing your English Honours from DU can be challenging, but it also opens up a wide range of opportunities. Here are a few options to consider:

  1. MA in English Literature : If you’re passionate about literature, continuing with an MA in English can deepen your understanding and open doors to careers in academia, research, publishing, and more.

  2. Journalism and Mass Communication : This is ideal if you have an interest in media, writing, or communication. It can lead to careers in journalism, public relations, advertising, and content creation.

  3. MBA : If you’re inclined towards business and management, an MBA can be a good option, offering diverse career opportunities in fields like marketing, finance, human resources, and more.

  4. Law (LLB) : If you’re interested in legal studies, pursuing an LLB could be a strong choice. It’s a path that leads to careers in law, corporate consultancy, or legal journalism.

  5. Creative Writing or Fine Arts : If you’re inclined towards creative fields, a PG in Creative Writing, Fine Arts, or similar courses can help you hone your skills and establish a career in writing, arts, or entertainment.

hey hai Im Saranya...im interested BSC nursing studying.....but one think 12 pass Arts .and i did my bA English...and the. i was studied AnM nurse 10 yrs operation theatre experience...cennnai Coimbatore city...im eligible bsc course

monag2673 23rd Aug, 2024

Yes, you are eligible to pursue a BSc nursing degree even with a BA English background and 10 years of experience as an AnM nurse.

While a BSc nursing program typically requires a science background, many universities and colleges have relaxed their eligibility criteria to accommodate candidates with relevant experience, such as nursing diplomas or degrees. Your experience as an AnM nurse in operation theaters will be a significant advantage in your application.

Here are some steps you can take:

  1. Research Universities and Colleges: Identify universities and colleges in Chennai or Coimbatore that offer BSc nursing programs.
  2. Check Eligibility Criteria: Review the specific eligibility requirements for each university or college. Pay attention to any minimum GPA or experience requirements.
  3. Prepare Your Application: Gather all necessary documents, including your BA English degree, AnM nurse certificate, work experience certificates, and any other relevant documents.
  4. Write a Strong Statement of Purpose: Explain your reasons for pursuing a BSc nursing degree and how your previous experience will contribute to your studies.
  5. Contact Admissions Offices: Reach out to the admissions offices of the universities or colleges you're interested in. They can provide you with more specific information and guidance.

Remember: While your experience and qualifications make you a strong candidate, it's always advisable to directly contact the institutions you're interested in to get a definitive answer based on their specific admission criteria.

I got ba english hons in deen dayal Upadhyay college,as per latest reviews placement is not good for this courses is it true or they are improving? Something else

Ishita 18th Aug, 2024

Hello Aspirant

The placement scenario for BA English Honors specifically at Deen Dayal Upadhyay College (DDUC) can be a bit challenging. While the college has seen improvements in overall placements, with a focus on commerce and management courses, the placement opportunities for humanities, including English Honors, might be limited

And it is a myth that if a student is doing their bachelor's in language (English, Hindi, Sanskrit, etc.), they will go into the realm of teaching. One of the reasons why language students have difficulty getting placed in the college recruitment drive.
However, you can talk to the officials themselves about the status of placement for BA English hons or can even contact your seniors and alumni.

Hope this helps

i have selected study medium hindi in my cuet application form by mistake... i am a english medium student and i have also given cuet exam in english only. want to ask will i face any difficulty in cllg regarding study medium. will i get ba hons course history in english medium without difficulty?

monag2673 17th Aug, 2024

Since you mistakenly selected Hindi as your study medium in the CUET application but took the exam in English, it's understandable to be concerned. However, this mistake should not significantly impact your ability to study in English at the college level.

Universities generally offer courses in both English and Hindi mediums, especially for popular programs like BA Hons in History. When you apply for admission, you will likely have the opportunity to choose your preferred medium of instruction for your course. Since you've taken the CUET exam in English, you should be eligible to enroll in English medium classes without difficulty.

It's advisable to clarify this issue during the admission process by contacting the university or college where you're applying. Inform them of the mistake in your application and confirm that you want to pursue your studies in English. This proactive approach should ensure that you don't face any challenges in securing a seat in the English medium for your chosen course.

mere jati pramanpatr me title english me galat ho gya hai or hindi me sai hai kya ye chal jayega

kumardurgesh1802 20th Aug, 2024

Hello there,

If the title in your caste certificate is correct in Hindi but incorrect in English, it could cause issues during document verification. It's important to have the title corrected in both languages to avoid any problems.

What You Should Do:

  1. Apply for Correction : Visit your local tehsil or caste certificate office and submit a correction application, explaining the mistake and requesting a new certificate with the correct title in both languages.

  2. Provide Supporting Documents : You may need to provide supporting documents like your Aadhaar card or other identity proofs where the title is correctly mentioned.

  3. Check for Online Correction (If Available) : In some states, you can apply for corrections online. Check the official website of your state to see if this option is available.

  4. Request Urgent Correction : If you need the corrected certificate quickly, you can request an urgent correction process at the tehsil office.

    Will It Be Accepted?

During verification, authorities usually compare the details in both languages. If there is an error in one language, they might reject the document or ask for further clarification. Therefore, it's important to have the title corrected in both languages.

Conclusion: It's advisable to get the mistake corrected as soon as possible to avoid any issues in the future.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Tell me some good books for preparing for entrance CUET PG English

Ishita 14th Aug, 2024

Hello Aspirant

CUET PG for English has somewhat the same pattern and syllabus as that of UGC-NET, so this will be a practice paper for you.

You should start from the very beginning of British English literature as most of the questions that NTA asks for English majors is from this. For this, you can read-

1) Padmja Ashok's A Social History of England

2) History of British Literature by E Albert

3) History of British English Literature by William J Long

The last two books are the holy grail for any English major student

For Literary Criticism and Theory, you can read Peter Barry's "The Beginning Theory". Apart from this, you can refer to YouTube videos and Google as well. For Indian Literature, you can refer to Pramod K Nayar.

Hope this helps
