English language
hello,
I searched the papers you wanted online but unfortunately they are not available easily or for free. Generally you can get sample paper books which have the previous year question papers at the back. They can even be found in Guides. You could try and visit your library too.
Good Luck!!
Dear Aspirant,
It was the traditional Indian education system that believed in maintaining an equilibrium. Education was not confined to texts, rather it focused on complete development and self- actualization. India, has always had a rich history of education, creativity and innovation. It can be disheartening to see something so rich in tradition being lost in the legacy of post-colonialism.
The concept of residential learning and surrendering to a mentor, “The Gurukul system” ,was that of Indian origin. There was no commercialization of education. The school fees that now serve to be a threatening pressure for many was then replaced by “Guru dakshina”, which was a service to the Guru after the completion of education. In contrast with these ideas, the contemporary Education system is focused on two ideas. These can be narrowed down to creating a workforce to adapt the need of industrialization and enrich the relation between self and identity. These approaches just create tension and dilemma in a learners mind which was absent in our Vedic period.
We can trace the shift in the style of Education to Thomas Macaulay's “Minutes of Education”, which advocated replacing Arabic and Sanskrit schools with English ones. Macaulay hoped that this system would enlighten the assumed ignorant people of the subcontinent and create a class of Anglicized clerks to work for Britain's growing empire. It is ironic that the civilising mission that wanted to enlighten the natives, left the country with a 13% literate population. After 1947, the whole structure of the education system started confining people to specific opportunities. There was no universalization of opportunities. The Gurukul system which was very strong on its base, was being perceived as an extension of the caste-system and a method to discriminate. Our ancient scriptures and early knowledge was being misintepretated and was being adjusted to the profit of a capitalistic society.
Hope this helps ! All the best.
Hello aspirant
There are mixed reviews available regarding this language issue, some people dont face this problem whereas others do.
The main teaching occurs in English because many people are not from Ahmedabad but sometimes the teachers do use gujrati as it's their mother tongue which creates understanding problems for students who do not know the meaning of the words. But if you do get admission in BJMC, you should go ahead because its one of the top governmental medical college in India with well experienced faculty and great exposure.
Whenever you face language issues, you can always request teachers to use English or explain you again.
Thank you
Hope this helps

BOT stands for Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. It is a job oriented undergraduate course. BOT medical course is based on the field of Occupational Therapy. ... In fact BOT and BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) courses have much in common!
The Course Fee for B.O.T. vary with Institutions. The Fee in Central/State Govt. Funded Institutions are heavily subsidized and may cost you around Rs.5000 to Rs. 10,000 per Annum. The course fee in other institutions under All India Quota may cost you anywhere between Rs. 50,000 to Rs.1 lakh annually. The course fee in Private Medical Colleges & Universities are not defined, it can be anywhere around Rs.1 lakh to Rs.2 lakhs per Annum.
If you do not hold domicile of Goa, you need to apply through All India Quota. All India Quota means 15% of MBBS seats in all Government Medical Colleges are pooled and filled in through a centralised Counselling system. So in other words, 15% of people who study are like you, not from Goa, do not speak the native language and are changing States and so you are not alone. Goa speaks English and so that shouldn't be an issue at all. And at all times, the medium of instruction shall remain English. There is nothing to be worried about. Things will eventually fall in place. It might take time to adjust to the new surroundings, culture and way of living but it is just a matter of time.
