Hi,
Germany is extremely pocket friendly. Most of the costs are covered by the state so you may end up paying only a few hundred Euros (up to INR 25,000) in semester fees.
The rest of the costs involve renting and food which may make the expense of living in Germany a bit steep for Indians. With rents costing about 700 Euros (~ INR 50,000) per month and the rest about 200 Euros (~ INR 14,000), it may become necessary for students to look into scholarship and funding.
Hi Yogesh,
Since you have not mentioned the maximum education attained by you I am assuming it to be 12th grade passout.
Well the points that I am going to mention are for anyone who wants to pursue higher studies from Germany.
First, you should look for the University providing the desired course. While looking into it you should also consider the cost of living of the place where University is located. Because being an international students you should be cautious with your finances.
Second, you need to check the application process of the university which you choose to go in. This you could do by going on their websites. Usually they are:
Entrance qualification is a term for collective documents proving the completion of your previous education.
Third, You should start saving for your blocked account 6 to 8 months before you apply for student visa.
A blocked account is a bank account for non-EU country students to prove the availability of financial resources to live in Germany. The monthly amount that you can withdraw has a upper limit.
For the year 2020 the blocked account amount is €10236~8 lakhs in Indian rupees with a maximum withdrawal of €853.
Fourth, you need to learn German language as the courseware is in German. For this you have two options:
The first option varies with University thus most of the Students opt for second option.
Fifth, Germany has made mandatory for international students to have a health insurance. This is done after you receive admission letter.
Sixth, After all of the other process completes you should apply for student visa.
All the best!
