I am just completed intermediate can i study free in any germany university, if possible what is the processor to apply for germany university?

Radhika Goyal 31st Aug, 2024

Hy,

Studying in Germany can be an attractive option due to its high-quality education and relatively low tuition fees. While "free" education is not always entirely accurate, many public universities in Germany do offer low or no tuition fees for international students. Here’s a guide to help you understand the process:

1. Understanding Tuition Fees

  • Public Universities : Many public universities in Germany charge low or no tuition fees for international students. However, there may be a nominal semester fee (which covers administrative costs, student services, etc.) that ranges from EUR 150 to EUR 300 per semester.
  • Private Universities : Private institutions generally charge higher tuition fees.

2. Eligibility for Free or Low-Cost Education

  • Public Universities : You can study at public universities with minimal tuition fees if you meet the admission requirements and apply to a program that does not have additional costs.
  • Scholarships : Various scholarships are available to cover living costs and other expenses. Check for scholarships offered by universities, government programs (like DAAD), or private organizations.

3. Application Process for German Universities

  1. Research Universities and Programs : Identify universities and programs that match your interests. Use resources like the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) website to find suitable options.

  2. Check Eligibility Requirements :

    • Academic Requirements : Ensure you meet the academic qualifications for the program you’re interested in. For undergraduate programs, this typically involves having completed secondary education equivalent to the German Abitur.
    • Language Requirements : Many programs are in German, so proficiency in German might be required. For programs in English, you will need to demonstrate proficiency in English (e.g., through TOEFL or IELTS scores).
  3. Prepare Documents :

    • Transcripts and Certificates : Your intermediate or high school transcripts and certificates.
    • Proof of Language Proficiency : If applicable.
    • Motivation Letter : Explaining why you want to study the chosen program.
    • CV/Resume : Detailing your educational background and any relevant experience.
    • Passport : A valid passport.
  4. Apply Through University or Uni-Assist :

    • Direct Application : Some universities allow direct applications through their own online portals.
    • Uni-Assist : Many universities use Uni-Assist, a service that helps with the preliminary review of applications from international students. Check if the university you’re applying to uses Uni-Assist.
  5. Apply for a Student Visa :

    • Visa Application : Once admitted, apply for a student visa at the German embassy or consulate in your home country. You'll need proof of admission, financial resources, and health insurance.
  6. Attend Interviews (if applicable) : Some programs might require interviews or additional assessments.

  7. Register at the University : Once you receive your visa and arrive in Germany, complete your registration at the university.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

  • DAAD Scholarships : The German Academic Exchange Service offers various scholarships for international students.
  • University Scholarships : Check if the universities you are applying to offer scholarships or financial aid.

Summary

While you may not find completely free education, many German public universities offer low-cost education. The application process involves researching universities, meeting eligibility criteria, preparing necessary documents, and applying either directly or through Uni-Assist. Additionally, exploring scholarship opportunities can help cover living costs.

For the most accurate and specific information, always refer to the official websites of the universities and the DAAD website.

I changed my name after graduation through gazatte in India and now I want to pursue my Masters in Germany. What possible problems could arise and what I need to prepare with to pursue my education with my now changed name?

Nitin Kumar 24th May, 2024

There might be discrepancies between your academic documents (graduation certificate with old name) and application documents (with new name). This can cause delays while German authorities verify the name change.

You might need to provide additional documents to prove the name change is legal and legitimate.

I hope it helps!

Question : Comprehension:
Read the following passage and answer the questions given after it.

At the end of 2020, there were 82.4 million forcibly displaced people in the world, of which more than a quarter are refugees.

"By the end of 2020, the number of people forcibly displaced due to persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations, and events seriously disturbing public order, had grown to 82.4 million, the highest number on record according to available data," according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Out of these 82.4 million forcibly displaced people in the world, more than a quarter are refugees.

Just five countries produce 68% of all refugees displaced abroad: the Syrian Arab Republic, Venezuela, Afghanistan, South Sudan, and Myanmar.

The top five host countries, where these displaced people are currently located are Turkey, Colombia, Germany, Pakistan, and Uganda.

With 3.7 million displaced people now within its borders, Turkey hosts twice as many refugees as Colombia, the next highest host country, with 1.7 million people. The situation in Turkey illustrates the effects of proximity, as 92% of its refugees have come from neighbouring Syria, where war and armed conflict have now been raging for more than 10 years. It demonstrates that huge numbers of displaced people stay close to their point of origin.

There are more than 48 million internally displaced people - people who have had to flee their homes in search of safety elsewhere within their home nation.

The highest increases in the number of internally displaced people happened in Africa and were provoked by a combination of armed conflict and humanitarian disasters. The civil war in Ethiopia, Africa's second most-populated country, has sparked a wave of displacement in a region that was already facing what the UNHCR calls "a full-scale humanitarian crisis."

All in all, more than a million Ethiopian people had to leave their homes behind last year, the UNHCR says.

Question:
The greatest number of people who have been displaced internally in their home country are in

Option 1: Turkey

Option 2: Syria

Option 3: Afganistan

Option 4: Ethiopia

Team Careers360 17th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Ethiopia

Solution : The right choice is the fourth option.

Explanation: The passage highlights that Ethiopia, being Africa's second-most-populated country, faced a civil war that led to a massive displacement of people within its borders. This situation was part of a broader humanitarian crisis in the region. The specific focus on Ethiopia and the mention of over a million people being displaced internally indicate that it had the largest number of internally displaced people in the context of this passage.

Question:
The passage is mainly about

Option 1: internally displaced people.

Option 2: displaced persons around the world.

Option 3: refugees in host countries.

Option 4: people devastated by conflicts and civil war.

Team Careers360 17th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: displaced persons around the world.

Solution : The right choice is the second option.

Explanation: Based on the passage, the situation in Ethiopia is highlighted as a significant example of internal displacement due to armed conflict and humanitarian crises. The civil war in Ethiopia has led to a major wave of displacement within the country, contributing to the overall number of internally displaced people in Africa. This focus on Ethiopia's internal displacement scenario is crucial to understanding the impact of conflict and crisis in the region.
