Hello aspirant,
Hope you are doing great....!!!
For NDA Exam, the general science, history, or geography section comprises topics that are related to Class 9th and 10th. Biology candidates may refer to objective GK by Sanjiv Kumar.
The history part consists of questions from the time of British India or even before that. Geography consists of the general knowledge questions related to crops, seasons, population, rivers, national parks, etc of different states either in the form of matching the column type or direct multiple choice. So Class 9th and 10th NCERT is enough.
I hope this information helps you!
All the best:)
Hello,
Thank you.
Hi,
The lack of women writers in a particular age and the lack of historical records regarding women are silent indicators of the suppression of the voice of women in society. In her subtle exploration of the status of women in society, Virginia Woolf exposes appalling facts about the condition of women during earlier centuries in England. Gender bias was strong in Elizabethan England: men and women were not treated as equals. We are shocked to know that “wife-beating was a recognized right of man”. Also, girls were denied education in England up to the eighteenth century.
Women in real society were completely different from the inspiring female characters that we see in great works of literature. In reality, according to social dictates, women were subservient to men. The complete lack of information about women before the eighteenth century in England shows the extent of discrimination against women on the basis of gender and their low position in society.
By means of imaginative reconstruction, Virginia Woolf explores what would have happened to a talented woman if she had been born in Shakespeare’s times. Through this method, the writer raises fundamental issues concerning gender bias such as denial of education to the girl-child, denial of expression of the self and one’s talents, and denial of choice in personal matters. Suppression of identity of women in the patriarchal society of sixteenth and seventeenth-century England was so severe that any woman of the exceptional genius of those times would have been led to commit suicide, become crazy, or live in utter isolation—Woolf concludes.
In the concluding section of the essay, Shakespeare’s hypothetical sister Judith emerges as a symbolic figure of a woman of genius, seeking to come to life in a conducive atmosphere for appropriate self-expression. The writer calls for a change of attitudes in society, whereby one can find parity between men and women, whereby women find space, courage and liberty to express themselves.
Hope this helps.
Hello Student
If you unable to match with the NCERT syllabus as you are from CISCE i e . That is council of international school certificate examination and your in search of a good history department of University. But your experiences in q set through cusec in any centre University there is no good history department for study. You can search for duet Delhi University entrance test or BHU UET, courses with history honours in any of the university as you like.
Hope this will help.
You have not mention the name of the university in which you take admission for BA history honours course. It may be Dr Ambedkar University or Jamia milia University Delhi. Jamia milia University admission in under graduate courses candidate has to appear for an jmi entrance test. In jmi AdMission will be based on the previous 12th class marks and entrance test and the availability of seats for the respective course here is BA history honours. For taking admission in other universities in BA history honours course to follow the same procedure of admission.
MSc Geography course you need to have BSc Geography course which requires you to have Mathematics compulsorily as a subject in your 10+2. So without Mathematics you can't do MSc Mathematics.
Now doing MA Geography also you can pursue your dream of being researcher. Not all the researchers in Geography are from the science background. During the PhD interviews & entrance, both MSc & MA graduates gives the same paper. So don't worry about that, if being a researcher is your dream then MA/MSc don't matter. The important thing that is required is your will power regarding the subject you are studying.

See for the PUBDET there are no strict syllabus provided. As per the official bulletin of the PUBDET 2021, the entrance test for the History Hons. will contain 80 marks question from History & 20 marks question from English. Now for both this subjects, you have to prepare with respect to the boards syllabus. Focus on the syllabus strictly for History & for English focus on the grammar and vocabulary portions.
