Sir I have already register for my ICSE board examinations but I want to change my name for some reasons.

Amy Student Expert 24th Aug, 2019

Hello aspirant,

You need to go to the court and get a affidavit done to change your name. As for the board certificate, it is suggested that you change it before appearing for the boards and not after. You need to contact your school for it, and it will be done but fine will be charged.

To change the name in your certificate after ICSE, it will be a lengthy process and you will need a good advocate. If you don't change your name in the certificate, it will create problems at places where the class 10 boards certificate is needed. All the best!

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 17th Aug, 2019
Hello dear parent,
Greetings,
According to the  eligibility criteria 2019 of kvpy, Candidates must get a minimum of 75% marks in class 10 while SC/ST/PwD candidates have scored 65% in aggregate of all Science subjects and Mathematics.
Ac per the marks mentioned by you your daughter's aggregate percentage in science and maths is 58.5 % which is less than 75% , so your daughter is not eligible for kvpy.
thankyou
Good luck

My son is in class IX, ICSE. How do I prepare him for KVPY (SA) ?

shivangi chauhan Student Expert 2nd Aug, 2019

Hello,

KVPY SA exam will have single paper with objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Duration of the paper is 3 hours

These are some tips which can help him to remain focused and score well-

NCERT books are best books for KVPY preparation. To win the scholarship, it is wise to be vigilant and find ways to be better than thier peers. Solve as many KVPY past year papers and sample papers as he can, and analyze his performance by comparing it with the given solutions. With a month or two of focus and practice, he should be able to score well in his KVPY scholarship exam.do remember to follow a timetable made by him own according to his weak and strong concepts.

Hope this helped.

Good luck!

Where should i take admission (for best placements) for Btech ? 97% in ICSE board, 59K obc rank in jee mains, 904 OBCGL rank in uptu?

Abhinav 10th Jul, 2019
Hi aspirant
As per your rank in jEE mains you have chances for getting a decent college.
But, definitely you won't be able to make it to the top/best NITs/IIITs as your rank doesn't match as per the requirement.
Also you can get a decent college under UPSEE.
But, definitely I'll suggest you to go for the JEE mains first ,ieif you get a good college it's better for you.
Here, try for the JEE mains college predictor to know which college suits you best according to your rank.

Also, you can use UPSEE college predictor to get a clear scenario.

Is NCERT syllabus easier for IGCSE students than CBSE or ICSE board students?

vibekmandal10_6455613 Student Expert 6th Jul, 2019
Hello Aspirant
In my opinion is igcse is much tougher than cbse.and  icse.board. igcse is more of like understanding and applying but cbse is more like mugging and writing exactly what was in the book. cbse has more content but igcse has more depth which makes it a bit more tricky but its an extremely good syllabus which i prefer more than cbse.
Thanks

How can Class 10 student of ICSE board, prepare for NTSE exam as both ICSE &NTSE syllabus is different

Joydeep Saha Student Expert 3rd Jul, 2019
Hey Sudhashree !
Well, it won't be much of an issue friend.
NTSE tests your basic aptitude skills in the common subjects till Class 10. It's obviously a known fact that the syllabus of CBSE and ICSE differs quite a lot and NTSE has a bit inclination towards CBSE.
But guess what, if we divide the paper in the subject wise aspects :
  • Science and Mathematics : The level of Education of the Science group of subjects is well above for the ICSE students and it can correspond well with NTSE because the questions in there are often at a level above that of CBSE. Eg : one year, a question regarding Transformer (step-up) had come, which became difficult for the cbse students to solve whereas the same or ICSE was easy.
  • English : No need to explain. ICSE students excel far better.
  • Social Science : This is where you need to prepare the best. The syllabus differs only in this aspect and a handle over here would give you the cut.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck !
