At the Institute of Design,located within the JK Lakshmipat University, we are aiming to bring about a fresh,new approach to design education, that is collaborative in nature and integrative in process.It is a four year course where students will be able to take courses not only from various domains and disciples of design but also from other institutes of the University. Dean of the institute  A.Balasubramanium( https://in.linkedin.com/in/abalasubramaniam ) is from NID-Ahmedabad. He is a highly regarded product designer,academic and writer,he has taught Design in major institutes in the country, including NID,NIFT, School of Planning & Architecture (SPA),New Delhi. The teaching faculty consists of Gaurav Juyal who has worked with Disney World's programme Art Attack( https://in.linkedin.com/in/gaurav-juyal-50945720 ), Promist Basu ( https://in.linkedin.com/in/promit-basu-47460017b ) and Medhavini Yadav ( https://in.linkedin.com/in/medhavini-yadav-57831144 ). There are also number of visiting faculty who act as a guide,facilitator and a mentor to help students to find their own directions. Some of the faculty who would be facilitating the Foundation Year Course are Margie Sastry,Rashmi Bharadwaj,Sanjeev Bothra, Shradha Jain,Tridibesh Sanyal and Vishnupriya Narayanan.

Students are taught hand skilled courses like design drawing and workshop skills like material manipulations, including working on a variety of materials like wood, bamboo, sheet metal, aluminium and others. They also learn basic design theory,besides a thorough grounding in elements of form,colour and aesthetics. They learn the important sensitisation courses like environmental perception and history of design aimed to give them a thorough understanding and perspective of design as a whole.

The Design course at JKLU is one of the most vibrant courses offered in India. The faculty is top notch and very much available all the time (as most of them live on campus) and the Makersapce in the Institute is another big add on where you can design anything that comes to your mind.

Yes you can choose NIIT over JK laksmipat University as NIIT has more faculties than JK Laksmipat. NIIT was established in 2009 where as JK lakshmipat was established in 2011 and NIIT has more good rating on Careers360 than of jk University. It gives you more opportunities, more facilities and good infrastructure than jk university.

It is a good college with good rating. Placement is also good which has 8/10 in rating and good reviews too.

There are good placements as the JK group has good experience in their own industries. They also bring some of the renowned companies for campus placement like JK tyres, JK paper, JK Fenner, JK cement and many more which provides an ample number of internships and nice placements. They basically focus on practical knowledge. They teach the basic key rules which are necessary to be a successful person.

I won't say its best or worst but would like to mention recent development in curriculum.Remember 'Rancho' from 3 Idiots.He would have loved this college.

University has collaborated with Ollins College of Engineering, Massachusetts, USA and transformed its teaching methodology and curriculum to promote experiential learning and students are learning concepts ranging from physics to computer science by developing top notch projects.

Engineering-Required to appear in one of the national level engineering admission tests, such as JEE or any other equivalent state level engineering entrance examination held in 2019. In case the candidate has not appeared for any national level engineering tests, they will have to appear in the JKLU Engineering Entrance Test (EET) to qualify for the programme.
