Joint Admission Test for M.Sc Programmes
Hi,
IIT JAM is a national level examination organized to offer admission into M.Sc. (four semesters), M.Sc. Ph.D., and M.Sc. Ph.D. dual degree etc. programmes at IITs.
Besides having a minimum bachelor's degree, for specific branches, specific subjects are required.
Some of the branches like M.Sc. Biotechnology are open for any branch that the candidate has pursued before while other branches require pre-requisite knowledge of subjects.
M.Sc. Astronomy also takes up candidates that have mechanical degree.

The IIT JAM exam is held for admission into MSc and integrated courses in the six subjects that are Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, Mathematical, Biotechnology.
for the subject you are going to apply, You must have read that subject for 4 semester or 2 years in your graduation degree.
Make sure you fulfill the all the IIT JAM eligibility (https://scoop.eduncle.com/iit-jam-eligibility) criteria before filling the application form like age limit and educational qualification.
The online application process for IIT JAM 2020 has been started. Fill the application form before 8 October 2019.

To be eligible for JAM exam, you must have fulfilled the complete IIT JAM eligibility criteria as follows:
Educational Qualification: a bachelors’ degree with minimum 55% marks.
Age limit: There is no age limit for IIT JAM.
Apart from these, you must have the particular subject in 4 semesters (two year) of your graduation to be eligible to apply for it.
If you want to apply for IIT JAM mathematics, you must have read it till 2 year of your graduation degree.

There are seven objective-type test papers in IIT JAM: Chemistry (CY), Physics (PH), Mathematics (MA), Geology (GG), Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematical Statistics (MS), Biotechnology (BT). 30 questions having 10 questions of 1 mark each and 20 questions of two marks each. Each question will have four choices out of which only one choice will be a correct one. It will be beneficial for you to begin your exam preparation during your graduation.
