I gave my 3rd year exams before the lockdown but since many other exams didnt took place, the university has not yet released the results as of 5 Aug 20. So am i eligible to apply for ibps po which released on 4 Aug 20?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 5th Aug, 2020

The official notification does mention that the Candidate should have a Degree in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India. It also mentions that the Candidate must possess valid marks sheet or Degree Certificate by the day he/she registers for the exam. The notification clearly mentions that the final results should hav been declared on or before August 26th, 2020. Because the last date for registration for IBPS 2020 is August 26th, you still have time. If by any chance the results are announced by August 26th, then you can apply for IBPS 2020 or else unfortunately you may be ineligible and might have to wait until next year to appear for the exam.

In my state lockdown is extended upto 31st August and public transportation is banned. Comedk is on 19th of August. How I will travel to my center? Also I called comedk executive, he said that we will not postpone it further. There are many students facing the same problem.

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 31st Jul, 2020
Hello,

I can understand your situation. Its really disturbing that the exam authorities are conducting the exam in this situation.Recently Karnataka conducted CET 2020 where 1.94 lakh students qppeared and 40 students were COVID-19-positive.
I think COMEDK will also conduct the exam and they will be postponed it only if government takes any action against. But i would suggest you not to appear for the exam even if they will conduct it because covering a distance of 200km is very risky in this pandemic. You will get many opportunities in future but life is very important so take care of it.
Hopefully they postponed the exam, till then talk to your parents regarding what should be done.If you have any private 4 Wheeler vehicle or if you can afford it on rent then you can appear for the exam.

I hope this helps.

The committee constituted to take a decision has decided to award average scores to students for the Geography paper. Marks will be calculated on the basis of the remaining five papers,” said Shakuntala Kale, chairperson of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. In a statement released on Wednesday, the board also announced that marks for work-experience papers for Children with Special Needs, which were also cancelled, will be given as per the average calculated from their remaining papers.

The board will consider marks of written exams only when calculating average scores for the cancelled paper. Of the total 600 marks, 480 marks are for written exams and 120 for internal assessments. With the cancellation of 40 marks for Geography, the written total will now be 440.
