I got 66% in my 12th board exam and l got admission in journalism and mass communication so please tell me which colleges better for me

Aman Yadav 14th Mar, 2019

Greetings!

Hope you're doing great.

Mass communication, PR, Journalism and Content writing industries are blooming at a very fast pace. If you've decided to pursue a career in journalism and mass communication then congratulations for being part of the lucrative industry. If you're looking for admission in Delhi University based colleges then I've to say that you won't be able to land up in top notch colleges. Having said that anything below 90% will close your chances for north colleges. Apart from Delhi University, there are several other private and media based colleges where you can pursue your dream.

The media industry is all about learning a certain set of skills which takes time and progress depends on individual capabilities. I strongly believe one should take a Post graduation degree before applying for any job. Post-graduation will open your horizon and networking. The following are the list of colleges you can apply for Graduation or Post Graduation.

  • Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Pune
  • Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi
  • Christ University, Bangalore
  • Manipal Institute of Communications, Manipal
  • Amity School Of Communication, Noida
  • Delhi College of Arts & Commerce, New Delhi
  • Indraprastha College for Women, New Delhi
  • K.C. College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai
  • Kamala Nehru College for Women, Delhi
  • Madras Christian College, Chennai
  • IIMC(Indian Institute of Mass Communication) for Post-graduation.
  • Checks out the further details by visiting individual websites.

Hope this will help. :)

Cheers!

Varsha Mishra 17th Apr, 2019

Hii sudiksha!! As per mass communication course, you can't directly apply for this course in JNU. You can't appear in the exam conducted by JNU, that is, Jawaharlal Nehru University entrance exam. You need to apply in IIMC (Indian institute of mass communication) to apply for the course. IIMC is a sovereign body which is affiliated to JNU. Good luck!!
