Hi i m javaid i have qualified my 12th class exam with pcmb and now i m doing bsc in non med with physics , math, geology is i m eligible for neet and which subject code i have to choose in neet application

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 16th Aug, 2021

Hi

Yes , you are eligible for appearing in NEET  examination.

This is because,

There is no rule which says that if you are doing BSC non medical  or any graduation you become ineligible for Neet examination, as to be eligible for neet what all one needs is :

* to must have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and must have got:-

  • at least  50  % in aggregate of PCB  i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology  in 12th examination  if belongs to general category

  • at least  40%  in aggregate of PCB if belongs to  Obc/ Sc /st category

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

So, if you fulfill this requirement  as per your category then you are definitely eligible for Neet  examination ,even if you are doing bsc non medical right now and after qualifying Neet examination you can get admission in medical colleges for MBBS etc on the basis of rank or marks obtained by you in NEET

Also,

*there is no upper age limit for Neet examination

For detailed information about neet examination go through our page forl which link is provided below; -

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-eligibility-criteria

Coming to which code you should select:-

You should choose code 2.

This is because,

Though you are doing bsc non medical,  your highest qualification with all the three i. e physics chemistry and Biology/ biotechnology remains 10 + 2 so you should choose code 2 as :-

it is for all those who have already passed 10+2 with physics chemistry and Biology / biotechnology and meet neet eligibility criteria i. e at least 50 % in pcb for general or 40 % in pcb for obc/sc/st  and  are either not pursuing graduation or pursuing graduation but doesn't have either physics or chemistry or biology / biotechnology  all of these three in their graduation

For neet codes refer :-

I passed class 12 2016 I took 6 subject biology and additional math my result will show pass in all subject but math is my additional subject. But I want change my subject math as main subject and biology as additional subject .is it possible to change after 5 years of results

Subhrajit Mukherjee 13th Aug, 2021

No if you have passed the examination and if you are awarded the certificate based on your registration and preference for 10+2 , you can't change the subject type based on the same result. Also having additional subject and main subject doesn't matter as for most higher education courses best of 5 is considered. Also if you are going for higher education you have no need to change your 10+2 subjects. See if you need Mathematics as a subject of eligibility then be it Additional or compulsory doesn't matter, you are eligible for the purpose.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

Hello? I am new here looking for an answer, I am in 10th cbse in Karnataka. I wish to pursue science stream for 11th but I chose basic maths and people are telling me that I cannot pursue to science stream without standard math, is it true that I cannot opt pcb in my state?

Vanshika Nangia 22nd Sep, 2021

Hello dear aspirant

Hope you’re doing well

Yes its true, you need to have standard maths in class 10th  in order to choose and get science stream in class 11 & 12.

It was just in this session that states allowed students who have opted for Basic Mathematics in Class 10 this year, to opt for the subject in Class 11 without having to write the Standard version of the paper later. This relaxation in policy has been prompted by the sharp rise in cases in the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

if you’re still in 10th then try changing your basic maths to standard maths if you want to pursue science stream in future.

Good luck

My rank is 41723 in JEE Mains (OBC category). Whats a good option for me?— Can I get into a government college with this rank? My aggregate percentile is 84, but in Math I have 95.

Anuj Kumar 19th Sep, 2021

Hi,

With this Ranking , it is difficult to get government colleges in JOSAA Councelling. However you could get government colleges in Kerala State level councelling. For that you have apply seperately apart from JOSAA. In order to know what colleges you could get with JEE Mains marks you should use this tool :

can I get chance in math honers in bankura chistran college .my hs number is 420 ?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 10th Aug, 2021

See this year there are a hype in set of marks and clusters are found in marks for different marks in WBCHSE. So if you wish to study Mathematics Hons course from Bankura Christian college then I would say you would have good possibility if its usual year i.e., exams are conducted. As this year, no exams are conducted the clustering of marks can lower your possibility. Although you have good chance to get into Bankura Christian College but to be safe I would also recommend you to apply for some other colleges in order to be safe.

Some other colleges for Mathematics Hons in Bankura visit the link below:

Bankura Sammilani College, Bankura

Pandit Raghunath Murmu Smriti Mahavidyalaya, Bankura

Panchmura Mahavidyalaya, Bankura

Bankura Zilla Saradamani Mahila Mahavidyapith, Bankura
