Hello,

The complete series would be 2,6,12,20,30,42,56 and so on.

The equation being used here is n x (n+1) where n is the position of digits.

To elaborate it further the digit at 4th position in series can be found  by using the formula n x (n+1) you will get 4 x (4+1) = 20

similarly the digit after 20 that is at 5th position will be 5 x (5+1) = 30.

So the series is 2,6,12,20,30,42,56.

Hello!

Here is this series 5,10,17,26...., the pattern is addition. The addition of consecutive odd numbers throughout the series starting with '5'. Look at the pattern for this series below:

5

10 = 5+5 (previous no.+ odd no 5)

17 = 10+7 (previous no.+next consecutive odd no after 5)

26 = 17+9

37 = 26+11

50 = 37+13

Final series is : 5,10,17,26,37,50

Hello Manisha,

We know that 1*2=2 then 2*3 = 6, 3*4 = 12,

4*5 = 20  . This shows that the next number will be the product of 5*6 = 30 .

Hello,

The given series is 3, 7, 11, 13, ...

3 -->(+4)--> 7 -->(+4)--> 11 -->(+2, it is half of 4)--> 13 -->(+2 ,following the trend)--> 15 --> (+1, it is half of 2)--> 16

This is the only relation that I was able to make out. There might be others as well. You can look for relations like: addition, subtraction, squares etc.

Hey!

Such questions helps to increase our Aptitude and also helps in some of the companies' recruitment. Given Aptitude question/mental ability question forms a series, in which

First value is 1*1=1

Second values is 2*2=4

Third value is 3*3=9

Forth value is 4*4=16

And so on...

So next value will be 5*5=25

Hi Manisha,

As we can see that 0 + 3 = 3

Then, 3 + 5 = 8

Then, 8 + 7 = 15

An odd number is added which is next to the previous one.

So, 15 + 9 = 24, 24 + 11 = 35

and so on...............

The series be like 0, 3, 8, 15, 24, 35......................

Mental ability question 1,4,10,22,....

Hello Manisha,

First number= 1

Second Number = (difference is 3 ) 1+3 =4

Third number = ( difference is double  3*2 =6 ) i.e. 4+6 = 10

Fourth number = ( difference is 6*2=12) i.e. 10+12 = 22.

So the next number is = ( difference is 12*2=24) i.e. 22+24= 46

2+3=5
5+6=11
11+12=23
23+24=47

Starting from the first we add 3 to 2 to make it 5,and there onwards the number which kept on adding was twice of earlier one.

Hello!

The series here is 80, 40, 20, 10, .....

I suppose we need to fill the next empty spot.

If we closely observe the series we will find that every previous number when divided by '2' is equal to the next number.

Eg: 80 when divided by 2 gives 40 which is it's next no.

40 when divided by 2 gives 20 which is it's next no.

20 when divided by 2 gives 10 which is it's next no.

Therefore, when we divide 10 by 2 we will get '5' further when 5 is divided by 2 we get 2.5...and goes on

So, final series is 80, 40, 20, 10, 5, 2.5
