hello veena sharma...,

The eligibility for admission, it is necessary to have a minimum of 50% marks in 10+ 2 in any stream (Commerce/ PCM) with maths as a subject and 40% marks in NATA Exam. According to the Council of Architecture (CoA), only maths is essential to apply for bachelor of architecture contrary to the popular perception that those who haven't studied physics, chemistry and maths (PCM) can't dream of becoming architects.

National Aptitude Test in Architecture(NATA) is a four year B.Arch degree course. It is arranged by an organization called NIASA (National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture) that belongs to the Council of Architecture (CoA) based in Delhi. One more exam that is of resemblance to NATA is JEE Mains paper2 which also helps you to get various college for a B.Arch degree. Some colleges accepting NATA scores are:

Department of Architecture, IIT Roorkee

School of Architecture and Planning, VMRF, Chennai

Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh

Department of Architecture, NIT Tiruchirapalli

Department of Architecture, NIT Calicut

Sushant School of Art and Architecture, Gurgaon

Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics, JMI, New Delhi

Now as you know that what NATA is, let us talk about the pattern of exam: It consists of two parts one being the drawing section which is taken on paper and aesthetic sensitivity which is conducted online.

Drawing: Duration of the drawing exam is two hours to answer 3 drawing questions. It is important for NATA aspirants to possess a knowledge about perspective and three-dimensional drawing. You need to be familiar with two-dimensional shapes. One book you can refer for practice is Arihant's Self study guide to B.Arch. It consists of everything you need to practice. Do practice some previous year papers, it can help you a lot. You can also refer youtube videos.

Aesthetic sensitivity: It needs all the knowledge you know about dimensions, various views, projections and also a basic idea of famous architects, monuments, famous buildings and their locations. You can buy a self study guide for preparation, it will provide you with all the material for practice.

NATA is an easy exam if you practice well for it. Try to work smarter and be clear with everything you study.

Hope it helps. All the best!

if I got 88% in class 12 board science and 150+ in Nata can I get admission in a good architectural college like cept nirma etc??

Swati Umang 21st Feb, 2020

Hello! Hope you are doing good

With a score of 150+ in NATA and 88% in baords you can apply for JJ college of architecture.

A score above 150 is considered to be a really good score. So, in this case you can even expect to be admitted into cept nirma.

You still have time for your boards. Solve the previous years question papers and try to score 90+. In this way, you can bring your position to a safe zone.

All the best
