National Law Universities
One-year LLM programme was introduced in India by UGC in January 2013 which recommended to set up a Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies (CPGLS) in the prescribed manner to offer the 1-year LLM programme.
It started at select law schools in 2013–14. In the last 3 years, many law schools, mostly National Law Universities, leading private law schools/universities and some of the central/state universities have introduced one-year LLM programmes in India.
The one year LL.M. programme shall have 24 credits with three mandatory courses of 3 credits each (making a total of nine credits), six optional courses of 2 credits each (making a total of 12 credits) and a dissertation of 3 credits. University may increase credit for dissertation up to 5 credits and decide how teaching and examinations have to be organized, grades determined and what specializations to be offered.
The best places to explore studying a one-year LLM programme in India could be the following institutions:
Hi Vishwa,
If you have drop after 12th then it will consider gap between your education which may affect your placements or for IPMAT but if you have valid reason for that gap then they will consider it. for that you have to convience them with proper reason and what you did during that time. Also there are some companies which accept gap for placement. Don't worry perform well after that gap so that they consider your request.
All the best!!
Hi Sudesh,
First of all there is no doubt that NLU Delhi is much better than Christ University. NLU Delhi is considered to be IIT and IIM of Law Education. The placements and quality of education also contributes towards high ranking of NLUs as compared to Christ University. Apart from placements, the fee structure at Christ University is tremendously high. NLU is a Public University whereas Christ University is a private one. If you've to make a choice between an NLU and Christ University then no doubt go for NLU.
Hope this information will help you!
All the best!

Hey.
At this time, only Gujrat National Law university (GNLU) offers the course of Bsc LLb among all NLUs. NLU Jodhpur also used to offer this course but it has been scrapped due to less people opting for it.
Best of luck!
Hi,
I would like to tell you that there is no age bar for taking admission in Law programme so you can appear for an LLB entrance provided you fulfill all other eligibility criteria. CLAT is one of the most preffered entrance for 5 year LLB. As of now, only those candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories will be considered eligible for taking part in CLAT who have secured minimum 45% in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2). I hope it helps!
