Ayush, it has to be NSO. NEET is the entrance examination for admission to Medical, Dental, Ayush and Veterinary Courses across India. Now NSO is a competitive exam conducted for cultivating scientific reasoning and logical ability. This needs an indepth knowledge of science. But once someone prepares for NSO, appearing for NEET becomes easier because the preparation is extensive. You get a deep understanding of the basics and so at later stages, preparing for NEET becomes easier.
Hello Krish,
Kindly mention which class NSO and IMO you are talking about.
Practising NCERT and your school books question is advisable. Download previous year questions, and some preparatory books ussually MCQs of science. When talking about IMO, since most of the portion is mathematics, practising many books as well as other competitions papers can be an option. There are several other exams such as NTSE, NSTSE, RMO(for 10th), and many more. It is important to remember that the topics will be the same as that of the school syllabus however the level will be upgraded, therefore, try practising tricky and more logical questions of that topic.
For NSO, science is involved learning NCERT will be extremely beneficial especially for biology and chemistry related questions.
Try solving Mental ability questions from legit books, and forget to solve sample papers and previous year papers. Download from here:

Ma'am, whether your child will qualify for the next round or not depends on various factors like her class, difficulty level of question paper and her relative performance w.r.t. other students of her class (school, zone as well as national level). We cannot predict it on the basis of last year cutoffs.
According to the official notice by SOF, students fulfilling either of the following 3 criteria will qualify for 2nd level Olympiads exams:
All the best for the results.
Hello Mahak,
For NSO Level 2, the syllabus is same as level 1. Only, the difficulty level will be higher than level 1. Level 2 is difficult but with regular practice you can score a good rank. Attempt NSO level 2 previous years question papers and mock tests.
Basically syllabus is divided into 4 sections.
Good luck!
