Shivendra Pratap SINGH 21st Sep, 2020

Yes of Course. Neurosurgeon are also human Beings. They also have emotions. They also have their family. But in my perception neurosurgeon lifestyle is mixed. There's a big upside .They usually have the comfort of knowing, or at least suspecting, that they are among the smartest people on the planet.those who manage the demands of their physical and emotional needs against the rigors of the career, will likely live quite fruitful lives.

Thanks And Have A Very Nice Day.Hope you understand this very Well and All the Best.

What is the Highest level of study for a Neurosurgeon?

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 19th Jun, 2020

Dear,

It takes 4.5 years of study plus one year of internship to complete the MBBS degree. Following MBBS, there are two options. One is doing a postgraduate degree, ie an MS in General Surgery. An MS takes 3 years to complete. After finishing MS, you will need to do an MCh degree in Neurosurgery. MCh is basically super-speciality. It takes 3 years to finish the MCh. So it takes 5.5 + 3 + 3 years minimum to be qualified to practise neurosurgery. Needless to say, becoming a neurosurgeon in India takes a tremendous amount of dedication and hard work. Its not just many years of training, it is also difficult to get into a good college for MBBS, and even more to secure a MS seat.

Hope this helps.

Which is more tough cardiology or neurology?

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 4th May, 2020

Dear,

If you are a doctor and you are thinking about which one to specialise in- cardiology or neurology. I would say, pick neurology, as there are fewer neurologists than cardiologists. However, the burden of neurological diseases is increasing. It would also depend on which subject you like more.As doctors, both cardiologists and neurologists are important for treating diseases of their specialities.

Cardiology rather a cardiologist is a person who looks after those experiencing chest pains or shortness of breath. These specialists focus on the health of hearts, arteries, and veins, especially for individuals with hearth rhythm issues or those who have survived a heart attack. Non-invasive cardiologists interpret the results of various tests, including echo cardiograms and MRI scans. They may also observe stress tests to determine the health of someone's vascular system during strenuous activity. Interventional cardiologists, however, perform cardiac catheterizations or major bypass surgery on the heart .

Someone struggling with vision, coordination, and language skills may see a neurologist for testing. These doctors treat nervous system disorders related to the brain and spinal cord. By examining the patient's reflexes, movement, and eyes, neurologists can determine if the patient needs further testing. The kinds of tests ordered and interpreted by neurologists include lumbar punctures to obtain spinal fluid and electroencephalography, which produces images of the brain. After finding abnormalities in the tests, neurologists may diagnose individuals with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, or as having had a stroke.

Hope this helps!

What Salary can a Neurosurgeon expect, if he/she start a private practice in any one of Metropolitan Cities in India?

Udit Narayan 10th Jun, 2020

Hello,

If He/She starts his/her own clinic than there is no fixed salary that can be assumed. It will be on the basis of the profit and that will be based on the cost of services provided, in a private practice clinic in any metropolitan cities in India it is about the business you run and what services you can provide and at which cost that will decide your salary/profit.

While its best to start working as an intern in any hospital than work as an doctor and learn and gain as much experience as possible. Because good money comes with Experience, An entry level neurosurgeon (1-3 years of experience) earns an average salary of 23,24,654 . On the other end, a senior level neurosurgeon (8+ years of experience) earns an average salary of 60,99,264.

After completing MBBS, taking MS in Neurology is good or MD in Neurology is good for earning more and to live Happily? Kindly commend on my Query?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 19th Apr, 2020

Hello,

both the streams are good and have high scope and risk at the same time.  Starting Salary of a MS/MD in Neurology is 3-10 lakh.

To live a happy life and earn more you have to perform best. You have to deal with complex cases and treat patients where it takes huge amount time and patience. the main motive being a doctor is to treat odds in the body and make one healthy.

Salary will increase wit experience and performance. When you perform best , you will feel different kind of satisfaction which will make you  happy.

Hope it helps!
