Previous year cut off for B.tech cyber security

SUKRITI GUPTA 11th Apr, 2025

This is the minimum score required to be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced (for IITs) and to participate in the JoSAA/CSAB counselling for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. This cut-off varies each year and depends on factors like the exam's difficulty and the number of test-takers. It also differs significantly across categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS). To get the most accurate information on the JEE Main qualifying cutoffs, it is best to refer to the official NTA(National Testing Agency) websites. Keep in mind that this qualifying cut-off is not the same as the rank needed to secure a seat in a Cyber Security program.

These cut-offs are highly variable, depending on:

  • The college's reputation.
  • The number of available seats.
  • The popularity of the Cyber Security specialization.
  • The category of the applicant.

To find these cut-offs, you should:

  • Check the official websites of the colleges you're interested in.
  • Refer to resources like JoSAA/CSAB counselling websites.
  • Consult educational websites

To find the most accurate and up to date cut off information, I recommend checking the official websites of the colleges you are interested in.

Rohan 29th Mar, 2025

If you’ve completed a Diploma in Computer Science , you can directly join the 2nd year of BTech in Cyber Security through lateral entry , without appearing for JEE or GUJCET.

How to Apply:

  1. Through Lateral Entry Exams – Some states have specific exams like LEET or GU Lateral Entry for diploma holders.

  2. Direct Admission – Many private universities offer admission based on your diploma marks without an entrance exam.

Check the eligibility criteria of the universities you’re interested in and apply through their lateral entry process.

Can BSC cyber security student get admission in M tech IOT via gate. and if yes what are the other requirements?

Mitali Sharma 25th Feb, 2025

Hello

A BSc in Cyber Security graduate is generally not eligible for MTech in IoT through GATE as GATE is primarily for BE/BTech and MSc students. some universities may allow BSc students with an MCA or MSc in a related field.

Other requirements :

1. Eligibility – Check if the university allows BSc graduates. Some require an MSc/MCA.

2. GATE Paper – You may need to appear for CS (Computer Science) or EC (Electronics & Communication) if eligible.

3. University Specific Criteria – Some institutes conduct their own entrance exams for non-engineering backgrounds.

Hope this gives you the clarity you need.

A BSc Cyber Security graduate is generally not directly eligible for M.Tech in IoT via GATE , as most institutes require a B.Tech/BE in CS, IT, ECE, or related fields . However, you can pursue M.Tech after completing MCA or MSc in a relevant field. Some universities may allow admission with a qualifying bridge course . Additional requirements include GATE score, minimum CGPA, and possibly an interview . Check specific institute eligibility criteria, and consider alternative options like MSc in IoT or PG diplomas if M.Tech isn’t available.
