What do you mean by culture and wjat are its different types ?

LALBEE 21st May, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing great. Culture is defined as all of a population's ways of life, including arts, beliefs, and institutions, that are passed down from generation to generation. Culture has been described as a society's way of existence. As a result, it encompasses etiquette, dress, language, religion, rituals, and art.

Because people can express their culture in an more number of ways, social scientists have defined two basic categories to explain what a community produces. Material culture is the first. A society's material culture is comprised of material things. Nonmaterial culture, or the intangible products of a civilization, is the other type. In other words, the aspects of culture that you can't see, touch, taste, or hold. Social roles, ethics, values, and even language are common examples. National, regional, organizational, team, and individual levels are all available. There are tangible and intangible sublevels of culture inside each of these levels.

Discuss the main feature of indian society .

pri111nah 21st May, 2022

Hi,

Indian society is known for its ability of tolerance and acceptance, and social cohesion making it unique in sustaining its culture. The importance of fraternity enshrined in the Preamble of the constitution makes it a duty of every citizen. Indian society is extensively diverse in cultural and regional aspects and it is pertinent that it is posited in each individual the realization of ideas and objectives in the Preamble concerning every other individual.

It is rather difficult to make pointers on what are the features of the Indian society as the essence of Indian society lies in harboring diverse and distinct identities, ethnicities, languages, religions, and culinary preferences. History stands witness to the fact that the societies that have struggled to hold differences were shattered in such an attempt.

But for understanding and simplifying the conundrum, the salient features of Indian society can be listed down as-

  1. Multi-ethnic Society
  2. Multi-Lingual Society
  3. Multi-Religious Society
  4. Multi- Caste
  5. Unity In Diversity
  6. Patriarchal Society
  7. Tribes
  8. Family
  9. Kinship System
  10. The balance between spiritualism and materialism
  11. The balance between Individualism and collectivism
  12. Co-existence of traditionalism and modernity.

What do you mean by national integration ?

pri111nah 21st May, 2022

HI,

National integration is the awareness of a common identity amongst the citizens of a country. It means that though the individuals belong to different communities, castes, religions, cultures and regions and speak different languages, all of them recognize the fact that they are one.

Note: A nation is a country with a unified socio-economic and political structure. It denotes a body of people who have a feeling of oneness, built on the basis of common history, society, culture and values. This feeling of oneness binds the people together in to a nation. In general terms, it is this feeling which is known as national integration.

National integration means “creating a mental outlook which will promote and inspire every person to place loyalty to the country above group loyalties and the welfare of the country above narrow sectarian interests.”
