Hello sir, My date of birth is 22 March 1989 can I apply for upsc 2021 exam. As per the eligibility criteria of upsc there is some reservation for kashmiris. Please tell me

pdwords Student Expert 31st Oct, 2020
Hello,

The specified deadline for upper age limit for UPSC official notification over the year has been on 2nd August, now in the year 2019 as per the notification age relaxation up to five years was offered to candidates domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from the 1st day of January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989 however as per this year official notification there has been no such mention on age relaxation criteria, so only if UPSC applies the age relaxation criteria in 2021 then only you can appear next year otherwise applying through general category will not possible the reason being the upper age limit will be not born before 2nd August, 1989

For your further clarity, I'm attaching the official notification of UPSC for the two years;

Can i apply for UPSC in third year of my BA ? Will a BA course from any prestigious private collage help me to clear upsc? Will they consider this course valuable ?

iammohdshareef 28th Oct, 2020
Yes, in the final year of your graduation you will be eligible for UPSC examination. Coming to your course, BA is all time suggested and one of the best course for cracking UPSC examination. Once you clear your UPSC examination your graduation and the College or your course are not consider. So no matter where you have done your graduation, you will get a job only if you crack it.
.
If you are going for any company rather then UPSC your graduation, College and your score will be given preference

I want to do Upsc, but my current situation is that to choose a degree course that is BAMS or Engineering..So which course is best point of view for an UPSC?

pkp.inutail 6th Dec, 2020

Greetings,

There are a few ways to look at this:

- Would you be willing to take your undergraduate subject as optional during UPSC?

If yes, then you can opt for engineering subjects later which have considerably higher chances of success as per data.

- How much time would you spend doing a course?

In an ideal situation, it is always great to get into the civil services at the earliest to have a few years of advantage over others in terms of retirement, seniority and higher posts, etc.

In that respect, Engineering would be good since it is a 4 year course and you do not have to do any internships afterwards, whereas BAMS would take you 5.5. years to finish.

- How much free time would you get?

considering the kind of university or college you join your time would be divided amongst various activities. If you are joining any good Engineering or BAMS university then chances are you won't get much time for your UPSC prep so research on that.

bottom line is - I'd personally recommend you join Engineering as it would be the shortest and will probably offer more free time to prepare for UPSC and you can also choose one of your Engg subjects as optional if you take a liking to them.

do not rush it, decide with ease, best of luck!
