Can I go for software engineering after writing IIT JEE exam

Akash Singh 10th Jul, 2021

Dear Lavanya,

Yes, of course you can go for software engineer after writing IIT JEE exam. In fact the topmost software engineers in India are from IITs and not only this many are CEOs and at high position of premium tech companies of world.

Now after you write JEE exam and get selected in IIT or NIT, then you will be having option to choose branch and the most preferred branch for Software aspirants is Computer Science and Engineering. But there is no hard and fast rule as such, if you do not get Computer Science then too you can study computer science skills being from other branches and can be a software engineer.

As there is so much competition for Computer Science branch so cutoff for this branch goes very higher compared to other branches.

To check the cutoff for all IITs for CSE branch you can visit our webpage by going through the link below.

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/iits-cutoff-for-b-tech-computer-science-and-engineering

By giving IIT JEE exam, you can not only get IITs and NITs but there are many other colleges too which accepts IIT JEE score and give seats on the basis of marks secured in IIT JEE exam.

I hope this answer helps you.

All the very best!!

Im studying in b_tech Em i eligible for writing the exam and continue my b tech

Sree Student Expert 29th May, 2021

Dear student,

Your question is incomplete. You are talking about which exam. About which exam's eligibility criteria you are willing to know. Please tell the exam name for which you are seeking information.

If you are talking about any entrance exam then writing entrance exam will not effect your B.Tech course. You can write most of the entrance exams related to Engineering in final year during your graduation and you can continue your B.Tech.

Hope this helps.

Thank you!!

what are the different 3of discourse you need to aware of before start writing a project, describe these firms if discourse briefly with suitable examples

Rishin Halder 26th Jul, 2021

Hello,

There are four different modes of discourse that one should keep in mind before starting a project. They are as follows:

NARRATION:-

Narration is a form of story telling. It comprises of mixing a series of events, normally in a consecutive order. The incidents described can be fictional or nonfictional. If the incidents have actually occured, we give the writing a different name like biography, autobiography, history, after action report, or a newspaper report.

DESCRPITION:-

Description tells what things are like corresponding to the five senses. A descriptive essay, or a descriptive passage inside a story, narrates how things look, sound, feel, taste, and smell. Nouns and adjectives can express what a person, place, or thing are like in their material characteristics. But description sometimes tries to do more than to allow readers to visualize characters, settings, and actions. It can also grow a mood or atmosphere, and this is done by the use of simile and various metaphors.

EXPOSITION:-

Exposition is the type of writing that is used to impart information. The prefix " Ex- " is derived from Greek through Latin and means "out, or away from." So exposition means "to place out," and, also the thing that is placed out for us to see and understand is the information. This variety of writing has various subtypes, the most common one is the process analysis, definition, classification and division, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, and problem and solution.

ARGUMENT:-

The motive of argument is to convince with the help of logic. An argument is done on a basis of belief or opinion that the writer thinks is correct. The statements of this type of opinion is called a "thesis." It is normally done explicitly infront of the beginning of the argument. To convince readers that his opinion is correct, the writer should develop a case to support the thesis. Developing a case needs giving reasons for believing the thesis, and then giving logics to support the reasons. If the reader has accepted the reasons and the evidence, then he has surely agreed with the thesis.

Hope this helps.....

what are the different types of discourse that you need to be aware of before start writing a project

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 30th May, 2021
Hello,

Before starting to write a project, there are four modes of discourse that you should be aware of. They are as follows:

  • Narration

  • Description

  • Exposition

  • Argument

NARRATION:

Narration is simply story telling. It involves relating a series of events, usually in a chronological order. The events narrated may be fictional (a made up story) or nonfictional ( the events really occurred). If the events actually happened, we give the writing another name such as biography, autobiography, history, after action report, or newspaper report.

DESCRPITION:

Description tells what things are like according to the five senses. A descriptive essay, or a descriptive passage in a story, tells how things look, sound, feel, taste, and smell. Nouns and adjectives can show what a person, place, or thing are like in their material aspects. But description often tries to do more than to enable readers to visualize characters, settings, and actions. It may also try to evoke a mood or atmosphere, and this is aided by the use of simile and metaphor.

EXPOSITION:

Exposition is the kind of writing that is used to inform tuw reader. The prefix "Ex-" comes from Greek through Latin and means "out, or away from." The root of the word comes from the Latin verb "ponere" which means "to place." So translated literally, exposition means "to place out," and, of course, the thing that is placed out for us to see and understand is information. This mode of writing has several subtypes, the most common being process analysis, definition, classification and division, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, and problem and solution.

ARGUMENT:

In argument you will have to convince through logic. An argument is based on a belief or opinion that the writer holds as true. The statement of this opinion is called a "thesis."To convince readers that his opinion is true, the writer must build a case to support the thesis. Building a case requires presenting reasons for accepting the thesis, and then presenting evidence to support the reasons. If the reader accepts the reasons and the evidence, then he should agree with the thesis.

I hope this helps.

my rank is 16823 and i want b tech computer science in ramapuram campus should i try writing second phase or should i procced with the rank that i got?

Sree Student Expert 28th May, 2021
Hello Reyashree,

You can get Computer Science Engineering course in SRM Ramapuram. If you get below 3000 rank in SRM JEE you have chance to get scholarship. If you want to try for second phase to improve your rank you can write the exam.
The expected cut-off for Computer Science Engineering branch in SRM Chennai Campus is 9500 to 10500 which is given by experts. But your preference is SRM Ramapuram Campus so with your SRM JEE Rank which is 16283 you have chances of getting seat in SRM Ramapuram Campus as the cut-off rank for SRM Ramapuram Campus is less than cut-off of SRM Chennai Campus and b ased on previous year's cut-offs the analysis is done. In previous year's the closing rank for Computer Science Engineering branch in SRM Ramapuram Campus is around 65000. So you can get Computer Science Engineering branch in SRM Ramapuram Campus. The cut-offs changes from year to year and also depends on various factors like number of students appeared in the exam, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available etc.

For more information about Cut-offs of SRM JEE click below given link.

when you attempt Amy pieces of writing what are the key question you should ask your self

anirudha vats 23rd Jun, 2021

Hi,

Well different styles of writing requires different points to be mentioned. Motivation letter requires a set of different points to be discussed in the piece, similarly poetry also demands that and just like that any form of writeup has its own way of writing and systematic points to be discussed. But on a general note, any piece of writing should answer the following key questions. Again these are just subjective things, so it also differs from person to person.

1. What is the idea behind the piece?

2. What will the structure of the piece?

3. How to start and how to end?

4. What points to highlight?

5. Finally, how to mend it into a beautiful piece.

I hope this helps.

All the best.
