GUJCET is the entrance exam, but ACPC (Admission Committee for Professional Courses) is the centralized authority that conducts the counselling and seat allotment process for engineering and other professional courses in Gujarat. Even when you get good marks in GUJCET, you will have to register/get admitted through the ACPC counselling process for admission in a government, grant-in-aid, or self-financed institute in Gujarat.

The SMEAT exam is necessary for admission. It has two parts:

1. A general ability test for analytical and reasoning skills. Some candidates with good UCEED or SAT scores may be exempt from this.

2. A creative test based on a theme, which is mandatory for all.

Both tests are done offline at exam centres in cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune.
