i got 73 marks and rank - 7614 in general category, Woman quota and mumbai domicile. can i get in any NLU

Kamakshi 19th Dec, 2025

Hello aspirant,

Based on the current CLAT 2025-26 trends, securing a seat with a rank of 7614 in the General Category in a National Law University(NLU) is a little challenging. However, it is not impossible considering your Woman Quota and Maharashtra Domicile. As per the current trends here is an assessment of your chances:

  1. Maharashtra National Law Universities( MNLUs): The "All India General" ranks are usually higher for the three NLUs in Maharashtra, but having a Domicile+ Woman Quota stretches the closing rank significantly in the MNLU Mumbai, MNLU Nagpur, and MNLU Aurangabad .
  2. Lower-Tier and Newer NLUs: with a rank of 7614, one must closely follow the following NLUs like MNLU Aurangabad , NLU Tripura , DBRANLU Sonipat, and CNLU Patna; during the " Vacant seat " notification.
  3. Seat Matrix for Women ( General Domicile): Most NLUs offer a 30% horizontal reservation for women. Therefore, with a rank of 7614, the competition for you is quite smaller.

Therefore, you must participate in all 5 rounds of CLAT Counseling and apply for vacant seats with a specific targets like MNLU Nagpur and MNLU Aurangabad.

I hope the information helps you.

Thankyou.

My AIR rank is 22002 while my SC category rank is 1086, will I get RGNUL

Sachin Saravanan 19th Dec, 2025

Hello aspirant,

With an AIR of 22002 and SC category rank of 1086,getting admission to RGNUL Patiala is difficult but not completely impossible. In recent years, SC category cutoffs for RGNUL have usually closed at better ranks, but some movement is seen in later counselling rounds. Your chances will mainly depend on seat availability and category - wise cutoffs in that year, so keep tracking the counselling rounds carefully.

Hope the details will help you.
