Yes, agricultural students are eligible for the Food Inspector post .
Basic qualifications are:
A bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Medicine from a recognised university.
Age limit is usually 18 to 35 years (varies with category and state rules).
Selection is through written exam and interview conducted by state PSC/UPSC depending on the recruitment.
So, agriculture graduates can apply if they meet the degree and age requirements.
