For CBSE PCMB students, several concepts from Class 11 are essential because Class 12 builds directly upon them in all four subjects. It's not just about continuity—it’s about depth. Without a good grasp of certain Class 11 topics, understanding Class 12 chapters can become unnecessarily difficult.
In Physics, the entire mechanics portion from Class 11—motion, Newton’s laws, work-energy-power, rotational dynamics, and gravitation—forms the conceptual base for electromagnetism and modern physics in Class 12. Problem-solving approaches, especially involving vectors and calculus-based reasoning, are carried forward.
In Chemistry, Class 11 physical chemistry topics such as mole concept, atomic structure, thermodynamics, chemical bonding, and equilibrium are critical for advanced areas like electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, and coordination compounds in Class 12. Organic chemistry in Class 12 also builds on basic reaction mechanisms introduced in Class 11.
In Mathematics, functions, sets, trigonometry, sequences and series, and the basics of calculus (limits and derivatives) are all extended further in Class 12. Many of the Class 12 topics assume you’re already comfortable with these fundamentals.
In Biology, Class 11 topics like cell biology, plant and animal physiology, and biomolecules provide the core knowledge required to understand genetics, human reproduction, evolution, and biotechnology in Class 12.

Hello
Don't be so anxious about your preparation. Just be calm and try to make time table and start from zero again. You are not late. Your overthinking not only affects your health but it also make your time waste. So don't overthink just start in a beast mode. As your class 12th boards are coming so analyse the syllabus first. Then mark the most important chapters and do that. Make your foundation strong. For boards , NCERT is the main so complete it first. Then revise your syllabus weekly so you do not forget the formulas. Give PYQs it will let you know about questions coming in exam.
I hope this helps you!
All the best !
