Yes, you can technically apply for a master’s in chemistry (M.Sc Chemistry), but most universities require a B.Sc degree with chemistry as a core or honours subject for eligibility. If you only studied botany as your generic elective and didn’t take core chemistry papers, many top universities may not accept your application, or they may ask you to clear bridge courses or prerequisites. Some universities with flexible admission policies might allow it if you have basic chemistry knowledge and good grades, but your options will be limited compared to students with a chemistry background.

Yes, your EWS certificate issued on 10 January 2025 will generally remain valid for the entire financial year (April–March), unless the authority specifically mentions an expiry date. For most central and state admissions/recruitments, EWS and residential certificates issued in the current financial year (2025–26) are accepted up to the counselling/admission dates in September 2025.
So yes, both your EWS and residential certificate issued in January 2025 should be valid for use till September 2025, unless the college/university explicitly demands a “fresh” certificate closer to admission.
No, admissions to B.Com. programs in India for the 2025–2026 academic year are typically closed because most universities, including those that use the CUET entrance exam, have already closed their application deadlines, which were in the middle of 2025.
Hello Aanchal
Yes, B.Com (//B.Com) admissions are still open in universities like:
1. DU Sol 2. Amity University 3. SRM 4. Jindal School 5. Geeta University 6. KCC Institute 7. IGNOU
Most colleges/universities have done their counselling process or are at the last rounds where you can't apply but the colleges I listed can still give you admissions so contact them.

In West Bengal, getting an EWS certificate usually takes 15–30 working days after you submit your application with all required documents (income proof, residential proof, Aadhaar, etc.). If everything is correct and there’s no verification delay, some applicants even receive it within 2 weeks.
But if documents need re-verification or there’s heavy load at the BDO/SDO office, it can stretch up to 45 days.
Hello Nandini
With 2,68,000 rank in NEET 2025, getting a Government BAMS seat at either Sanjeveni College Hubli or Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Hubli is highly unlikely for the unreserved category, but possible for reserved category (mainly SC/ST) based on previous year cutoffs.
Thank You!!!
Hello Moulish
Yes, RPVT 2025 has qualifying marks which is set as a percentile. Candidates need to score at least 50th percentile for the General category and 40th percentile for reserved category to qualify for the counselling. The cutoff will be declared after the declaration of results but the qualifying marks are these only.
