Yes, SNQ quota can be useful in some courses, but it is not commonly used for BAMS admission.
SNQ means Supernumerary Quota. It is an extra quota made mainly for students from economically weaker backgrounds. This quota is mostly available in engineering and technical courses. In medical courses like BAMS, SNQ quota is usually not available.
BAMS admission is mostly done through NEET score. Seats are given based on all India quota, state quota, category quota like SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or sometimes management quota. SNQ quota is not mentioned for BAMS in most states.
But each state has its own counselling process for BAMS. So, it is better to check your state’s official counselling website to confirm if SNQ quota is used for BAMS in your state.

Hello Aspirant,
According to RRB rules, OBC Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate must be in its prescribed format and issued before closing of the application to be accepted. If you had a valid OBC NCL certificate before the closing of the application date (even if not in exactly the prescribed form) and then later had an OBC NCL certificate issued in the prescribed format, it is accepted as long as the original certificate establishes you belonged to the Non-Creamy Layer before the closing date at the time of the document verification.
However, whether it will ultimately be accepted will depend upon the final decision of RRB officials at the time of verification. It will be safer to carry both old and the prescribed format, together possibly with an affidavit or explanation letter as necessary.
With an All India Rank of 1,86,356 in NEET, getting a government MBBS seat is difficult but you can get admission in private medical colleges especially if you are open to exploring different states and can manage the higher fee structure.Private MBBS colleges in states like Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra often admit students with ranks up to 2.5–3 lakh under the management or NRI quota, depending on the college and the demand that year.
Here are a few private colleges where you could possibly get a seat:
Fees in private colleges usually range between 10–18 lakhs per year, depending on the college’s reputation. Keep in mind that in some cases, hostel and miscellaneous costs are additional.
Register for the central counseling through MCC and also through state counseling portals. Participating in mop-up and stray vacancy rounds is crucial, as that’s when lower-ranked candidates often get placed.

Hii,
If your degree has been discontinued since 2019, the first thing you should do is contact the university or college where you were enrolled. Every university has its own set of rules regarding academic discontinuation and re-admission. In most cases, universities allow students to resume studies within a certain number of years under a readmission policy. Since it’s been a few years, you might have to submit an application for readmission or request permission from the academic board
Some universities also have special or backlog exams for discontinued students. Make sure to gather your past mark sheets, ID proof, and any correspondence or leave letters (if applicable) to support your request. If the gap is too long and rejoining isn’t allowed, you might have to start afresh in a new program but don’t worry, many open universities like IGNOU or NIOS allow credit transfers.
Hope you will find it helpful!
