Sir, my child got 359 marks in neet 2025. We belong to General Category (OBC). Will I get government seat in karnataka.

OISHEE BANERJEE 14th Jun, 2025

Hello sir,

With a score of 359 in NEET 2025 and belonging to the General (OBC) category, it will be quite difficult to secure an MBBS government seat in Karnataka. Based on recent trends, the cutoff marks for government medical colleges in Karnataka under the OBC category usually range between 500 to 530 marks, depending on the college and the year’s competition.

Government medical colleges like Mysore Medical College, KIMS Hubli, and Bangalore Medical College generally close admissions at much higher scores, especially under the state quota. A score of 359 falls significantly below the usual OBC cutoff in these colleges.

However, options are still available. You can consider private medical colleges in Karnataka, where the cutoffs are lower than in government institutions. Some private colleges may consider scores in the range of 300–400, especially under OBC or management quota seats, though the fees will be higher.

Your child may also explore paramedical and allied health science courses like B.Sc Nursing, BPT, BMLT, Radiology, etc., which have good career prospects and are available at both government and private institutions.

I wish your child all the best!

i got neet score 106 how can i get admission in BDS at which collage in india may be it management quota.

OISHEE BANERJEE 15th Jun, 2025

Hey! With 106 marks in NEET 2025, getting admission to a government BDS seat is not likely, but you still have a chance through management quota in private dental colleges across India. These seats are usually open to students with lower NEET scores, especially during the mop-up and stray vacancy rounds of counselling.

To get started, make sure you register for counselling in your state or in states that allow open-state applications like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, or Uttar Pradesh. Even private colleges admit students strictly through the NEET counselling process, so it's important to stay updated on counselling schedules and apply on time.

Management quota seats can be expensive, with annual fees ranging from eight to fifteen lakhs, depending on the college and state. But if you're determined to pursue BDS, this path is still a valid option.

All the best!

At 500 marks can I get a government medical college through AIQ or Uttar Pradesh caste OBC?

OISHEE BANERJEE 14th Jun, 2025

Hello aspirant!

Thank you for sharing your marks. With 500 marks in NEET 2025 and belonging to the OBC category from Uttar Pradesh, you do stand a fair chance of getting a government medical seat, especially under the state quota.

In Uttar Pradesh, the OBC category cutoff for government medical colleges has usually ranged between 490 to 520 marks, depending on the college and year. So with 500, your chances are moderate to good under the 85 percent state quota in UP. You may be able to get seats in colleges like Government Medical College Ambedkar Nagar, Badaun, or Azamgarh in the later rounds of counselling.

For All India Quota (AIQ) 15 percent seats, the cutoff for OBC tends to be higher, around 510 to 540 marks, so getting a seat through AIQ with 500 marks may be difficult, but you might have a chance in the later rounds.

So overall, while AIQ may be tough, you do have a realistic chance through the UP state quota, especially if you have a good rank within the OBC category.

Feel free to ask any more questions that you might have. All the best!

i got 165 score in neet and i want to get admition of bds , so please suggest low bduget and bes t colleage for bds

OISHEE BANERJEE 14th Jun, 2025

Hello aspirant!

With a NEET score of 165, getting admission in BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) in a government college is not likely, as the cutoff is usually much higher. But you still have options in private dental colleges, especially those with relatively low fees and decent infrastructure.

Some private BDS colleges offer seats at scores below 200 under management quota or state quota depending on the state. Fees vary from college to college, but some private colleges offer BDS at a lower budget compared to others.

Here are a few to consider:

  • Madhya Pradesh has some private dental colleges with moderate fees and a good reputation.

  • Karnataka offers several private BDS colleges where admission is possible at lower scores, though fees can be on the higher side.

  • Uttar Pradesh has a large number of private colleges, and you may find budget-friendly options there.

  • Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan also have some colleges where BDS admission at 165 is possible.

I personally suggest that you apply through the state counselling of states that allow open category admissions, even if you are from a different state. That increases your chances of finding a suitable college.

All the best!

My neet ug 2025 rank is around 130000 can I get seat if yes then in which round I can expect? I belong to obc category and my category rank is around 63k I wanted to participate in state counselling

Abhi sonkar 16th Jun, 2025

Hey there,

As per facts and no. Of medical college seats the required rank for mbbs for obc in state quota is 30000 to 70000

So there is very less chance to get mbbs in government college  you can expect the lastest roud of counseling otherwise some semi government college offers you mbbs in ease or you can choose other courses like bams bhms bds.
