My rank is 5680 Will I get Amu medical college

Ayush Madanpotra 19th Jun, 2025

With an All-India NEET rank of 5,680, getting a seat in AMU Medical College under the general quota may be difficult, as the previous year’s Round 1 closing rank for the open category was around 3,304. However, you may still have a chance under the Institutional quota, where the closing rank has gone up to around 11,190 in past years. So yes, while general quota chances are low, you can try under the institutional quota by participating in AMU’s internal counselling.

I have completed my grade 12 with decent percent..but it is insufficient to get into veterinary admission..so iam Willing To write improvement exam for biology and physics..do I have to write both exams on July 15th of this year or is there any option to write it next year..

gopi 16th Jun, 2025

Hello Harsha,

If you have completed your Grade 12 and didn't get the marks needed for veterinary admissions, you can take improvement exams in Physics and Biology. For most boards (CBSE and state boards), improvement exams usually happen in July in the year you completed Grade 12. So, if you want to secure your upcoming admission this year to get into a veterinary college, you would need to write both subjects in July of this year (2025) on scheduled dates (for example, July 15 if they announce). If you also want, but want to write them next year, but:

  1. You may have to take next year's improvement cycle (2026).
  2. You will miss this year admission cycle for veterinary courses, and will likely have to apply next year.

Also, let me know if you're applying through PU centralised counselling (like PU CET/PGCET) or directly through the college. With this information, I can give you the correct admission dates and fee structure.

Ayush Madanpotra 19th Jun, 2025

The registration for BA course through open category usually starts between July and August, but the exact date depends on the university and state. Different universities have different admission schedules.

To give you the correct date, I need to know which university or state you are applying in. For example, IGNOU, DU SOL, or a state open university may all have different dates.

For 140 marks can I get mbbs seat? For obc category

gopi 16th Jun, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

It is highly improbable to get an MBBS seat with 140 marks in NEET, even for OBC candidates, as Government medical colleges usually require higher as mentioned above 450–500 for OBC in most of the states. With 140 students will usually be limited to private colleges or management quota seats and even that will be sometime doubtful. Cutoff marks are different in every state as well as every year so please visit your state's counseling website for further information. Check here for information: NEET College Predictor 2025

For 40 K can I get seat in college

Ayush Madanpotra 19th Jun, 2025

If your NEET 2025 rank is around 40,000, then yes,you have very good chances of getting a government MBBS or BDS seat, depending on your category and state. Here's a general idea:

For General Category:
You may get MBBS seats in state government medical colleges in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu, depending on the closing ranks in state quota. Under All India Quota (15%), you might get BDS and MBBS seats in newer government colleges.

For OBC / SC / ST / EWS Categories:
Your chances improve greatly. You can get MBBS seats in well-known government colleges, especially under state quota (85%). Many SC/ST candidates with ranks up to 80,000 have got seats in past years.

Private Colleges:
You can get MBBS in top private colleges at a more affordable rate under state quota.

Suggestion:
Participate in both All India counselling (by MCC) and your state’s counselling. Fill as many choices as possible in the college choice-filling stage.

I have scored 90 percentage in computer science engineering polytechnic. Where can i get admission in BTech computer engineering. Looking for colleges in mumbai.

Ayush Madanpotra 19th Jun, 2025

With 90% in Computer Science Engineering (Diploma), you are well qualified to get admission into B.Tech Computer Engineering through lateral entry (Direct Second Year Engineering) in good colleges in Mumbai.

Here are some well-known colleges in Mumbai where you can apply:

  1. Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) – One of the top government colleges. Very competitive, but with your marks, you have a fair chance.

  2. Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT), Andheri – Good faculty and placement.

  3. Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (Fr. CRCE), Bandra – Well-known private college with decent placements.

  4. KJ Somaiya Institute of Technology – A reputed private college offering lateral entry.

  5. Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET), Kandivali – Good for placements in CSE/IT.

  6. Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Wadala – Good labs and placement for Computer Engineering.

  7. Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering (DJ Sanghvi), Vile Parle – If eligible, it is highly preferred.

How to apply:

You will need to apply through the CAP (Centralized Admission Process) conducted by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra, for Direct Second Year Engineering (DSE). Admission is mostly based on your diploma percentage, and 90% is a strong score.
