Can I get oral Pathology seat in GDC with obc category rank 487?

hemanth kumar 14th Jun, 2025

Your OBC rank of 487 in Oral Pathology in Government Dental College is good enough to secure you a seat. Typically government dental colleges will keep aside a reasonable number of seat for OBC candidates and a rank below 500 is considered competitive. The most you can do is to be active during your counselling, have all your documents prepared and list the colleges of your choice wisely. It is necessary to remember that allotment of seats is based on the number of candidates, seat availability, and reservation rules. Stay positive and prepared

Can you tell me of past few years closing rank for OBC-NCL for NEET AIQ and State quota for counseling

Shubham Jha 14th Jun, 2025

Dear student,

For MBBS admissions under the OBC-NCL category, recent NEET data shows that the All India Quota (15%) closing ranks usually fall between 20,000 and 25,000 . In 2024 , the last round for OBC candidates closed around 25,212 , with a NEET score of 652 . In 2023 , the final closing rank was close to 23,675 , with a score of 610 .

Under the state quota , ranks vary more depending on the college. In Karnataka , top government colleges like Bangalore Medical College had OBC closing ranks around 2,700 , while others like Gulbarga and Kodagu closed above 12,000 . In Uttar Pradesh , OBC seats under AIQ closed near 23,800 in 2024 with scores around 654 .

The qualifying percentile for OBC-NCL is generally the 40th percentile , with cutoff scores ranging from 107 (in 2023) to 163 (in 2024) , depending on the year’s difficulty level.

Overall, OBC-NCL candidates with ranks up to 25,000 in AIQ or higher ranks under state quota usually have good chances at government MBBS seats, depending on their state and college preferences.

hemanth kumar 14th Jun, 2025

Hey Aibandari! And in case you already paid the seat allotment fee, then congratulations, your seat is already secured! The second process is to report to the assigned college in the specified time with all your documents (such as allotment order, fee receipt, certificates, etc.). Reporting dates and instructions will be announced on the official counselling site continuously. Missing reporting may lead to cancellation of your seat. Then simply keep your eyes open, keep to the steps and you are ok!

How should I need to prepare for MET can u give some study tips related to exam

Rajeswari Dey 14th Jun, 2025

Hi aspirant,

To prepare well for the MET exam , use a planned approach .

  1. Begin by completely studying the test structure and syllabus .
  2. Make a well-structured timetable to devote enough time to each subject , prioritizing weaker areas and periodically updating strong ones .
  3. Importantly, practice extensively using mock exams and previous years' papers to improve speed , accuracy , and time management , as the MET is frequently described as a speed-based exam with a mix of MCQs (with negative marking) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) problems (with negative marking).
  4. Finally, to keep intellectually and physically alert, stick to a balanced schedule that includes enough rest and proper nutrition .

Know MET Preparation Tips

You can also refer to the link given above for more information on the same.

All the best!
