My approximate score is 176.15 out of 200 without any normalisation. As an out of state candidate, would I get into college of engineering guindy or madras institute of technology ?

hemanth kumar 14th Jun, 2025

Having scored approx 176.15 out of 200 in KCET, without normalization, that is a extremely high score, more so as an out of state applicant. So out of state seats are less and more competitive, though you have a good chance in the Karnataka top ranked engineering colleges, more so in Computer Science, ECE or IT branch, depending upon the individual cutoff trends. But admission in the very popular government colleges such as UVCE or RVCE may be a squeeze under open category as there are few seats available to non-Karnataka students.

can i apply for snq quota if i take a private seat in engineering collage in kcet ?

Prachi Kumari 14th Jun, 2025

Hello,

No, you cannot apply for the SNQ quota if you have already taken a private seat in an engineering college through KCET .

The SNQ (Supernumerary Quota) is meant for students from economically weaker sections and is available only during the counselling . You have to choose SNQ at the time of option entry . Once you take a private seat, you are not eligible for SNQ.

So, if you want to apply under SNQ, you must select it during the option entry round , not after taking any seat.

Once it's live, any student who has failed one or two subjects in their board exams can register. To make the application through the portal, you will have your student roll number, mobile number, and email handy. Payment of the fees and submission of the exam form is online. Following the registration process, compartment examination is normally held in July or August. Be attentive, insert your information correctly, and you are good to go.

I have jam rank 1427 from general category. Can I get iiest shibpur for pg chemistry

Prachi Kumari 14th Jun, 2025

Hello,

Yes, with a JAM rank of 1427 in the general category, you have a fair chance of getting M.Sc. Chemistry at IIEST Shibpur.

In previous years, the closing rank for general category in M.Sc. Chemistry at IIEST Shibpur has gone around 1300 to 1400 in the last rounds. Since your rank is 1427, you are very close and may get a seat in the later rounds.

Make sure to:

  • Fill IIEST Shibpur as a higher choice while applying.

  • Take part in all rounds of counselling.

  • Keep some backup options too.

So, overall, your chances are good, especially in the later rounds.

Hope it helps !

How I registered for diploma course in walchand collage of engeneering

Rajeswari Dey 14th Jun, 2025

Hi aspirant,

  1. Walchand College of Engineering (WCE) in Sangli offers Diploma in Engineering programs.  Admission to these diploma courses is generally based on merit, with Class 10th grades typically taken into account.
  2. When the application window opens, you must submit your application online via the official WCE website.
  3. The process normally include filling out the application form with personal and academic information, submitting required documents (such as 10th grade mark sheets and other applicable credentials), and paying the application cost.
  4. It is also frequently associated with the Directorate of Technical Education's (DTE) centralized admission process (CAP) for diploma admissions in Maharashtra.
  5. Keep an eye on the WCE official website and the DTE Maharashtra portal for specific dates and rules for the academic year you're applying for.

How much college offered bpt course on the basis of neet score in bihar and all India

Prachi Kumari 14th Jun, 2025

Hello,

In Bihar:

There are around 7 to 13 colleges that offer BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) courses in Bihar. Most of these colleges take admission based on 12th marks or state-level entrance exams . Very few colleges, if any, accept NEET scores for BPT in Bihar.

In All India:

Across India, there are around 500 to 520 colleges offering BPT courses. But only about 9 colleges in the whole country accept NEET scores for BPT admission. Some of them include D.Y. Patil , Lokmanya Tilak Medical College , and Goa Medical College .

So, even though NEET covers BPT, most BPT colleges do not use NEET scores. They either take direct admission based on 12th marks or conduct their own entrance tests.

Hope it helps !

In college, there is no MSc course, are they going to update any new courses regarding MSc ???

Ayan Chakraborty 13th Jun, 2025

Why It’s Hard to Confirm

Since you didn’t specify your college, I can’t provide a definitive answer about its plans for new MSc courses. Higher education institutions frequently evaluate their offerings, and new programs depend on factors like student interest, faculty expertise, and market demands. Without specific details, I can share broader insights into trends and possibilities.

Trends in Higher Education

Recent trends suggest colleges are adapting to modern needs. For instance, a 2025 report from Deloitte Insights (https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/insights/industry/public-sector/2025-us-higher-education-trends.html) highlights a focus on lifelong learning and data-driven education, which could prompt new MSc programs in fields like data science or technology. Additionally, initiatives like the EIT Manufacturing call (https://www.eitmanufacturing.eu/calls/call-for-proposals-for-new-higher-education-institutions-accession-to-master-and-doctoral-schools-and-new-master-programmes/) aim to introduce Master’s programs in specialized areas, indicating potential growth in postgraduate offerings.

What You Can Do

To get precise information, visit your college’s official website or contact the admissions office or academic department. They’ll have the latest details on any planned MSc courses. Exploring these trends can also help you discuss potential programs with your college, as institutions often value student input.
