I wanted to know i am from ignou 2025 jan batch persuing masters . Will i be able to get into mphil programme by the time i finish masters

Sankalp Agrawal 13th Oct, 2025

Hello,

If you are pursuing your master’s from IGNOU (January 2025 batch), you will become eligible to get into M.Phil. or Ph.D. programme only after completing your master’s degree successfully with the required minimum percentage which is (usually 55%).

However, you should know that as per the latest UGC regulations, M.Phil. programmes have been discontinued in most of the universities across India, and admissions are now being offered directly to the Ph.D. programmes based on NET/JRF scores or university entrance tests.

Hope You Understand.

I wanted to know i am from ignou 2025 jan batch persuing masters . Will i be able to get into mphil programme by the time i finish masters

Aahana Rawat 12th Oct, 2025

Hey there,

Masters from IGNOU January 2025, you probably will be done with it late 2026 or early 2027. Still, M.Phil won't be an option as per the new education policy (NEP 2020), it has been abolished.

A great majority of universities including IGNOU have already ceased M.Phil courses. In fact, after your masters completion with minimum 55% marks (or 50% for a reserved category), you are eligible to submit your application for doctoral research directly, not M.Phil. Moreover, only qualifying in the entrance test and interview will be your next step.

Hope it helps!!!
Thank you.

I dont know much about what do I do after my 12th PCM, I really wanna know what I can do and what choices do I have for choosing my career

Aahana Rawat 12th Oct, 2025

Hey there,

I understand it could be a bit confusing to know what to do after 12th, but, there are many excellent options. If you love math and logic, then picking an e ngineering branch CSE, mechanical, civil, or electronics , would be the right decision.

If you like research and teaching more, then you can do B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, or Math and later go for M.Sc. or even a Ph.D.

Besides that, you may step into architecture, data science, aviation, or defense (NDA) fields as well. If you want to do something completely different, you could study design, management, or computer applications like BCA.

I hope it helps!!!
Thank you.

Top engineering college in Chennai

Aahana Rawat 12th Oct, 2025

Hello,

Engineering colleges of Chennai are some of the best in India and have a good track record of academics and placements. First of all, there is the IIT Madras, always at the top of the NIRF rankings and with great faculty. The College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG) of Anna University is another excellent government engineering college with a history of good placement.

The two private colleges are SRM Institute of Science and Technology and Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology , which are quite well known for their cutting-edge infrastructure and exposure to the world. Vel Tech University is considered to be the leader of the change for its research-oriented programs, while Rajalakshmi Engineering College is also known for good academics and placements.

i have got 35% in 12th science, so can i get admission in forensic science

Aahana Rawat 12th Oct, 2025

Hello,

Scoring only 35% in your 12th Science, it will be quite difficult for you to get a seat in the Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science course in most of the well known universities in India. In general, to be qualified for the admission, schools and universities ask for at least 50% marks in 12th Science (with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics).

However, It is possible that some private universities have less strict criteria for admission. For example, Jain University and Amity University provide B.Sc. in Forensic Science. They may not only look for high percentages but also take into account your performance in their entrance exams and interviews.

Hope it helps!!
Thank you.
