Hey i have a query regarding caste certificate required in neet ug counselling and admission. My caste certificate and my marksheet have different surname of my mother. Will it cause an issue?

hemanth kumar 10th Jun, 2025

For NEET UG counseling and admission, a caste certificate is required if you're applying under a reserved category (e.g., SC, ST, OBC). Ensure your caste certificate:

- Is issued by a competent authority

- Is valid for the state you're applying in

- Matches the category you're applying under

If your caste is recognized in one state but not in another, you might need to check the specific rules for the state you're applying in. A lot of countries may demand a certificate that meets their standards and can have unique ways of acceptance.

Go to the website for medical counseling or call the Medical Counselling Committee to find out about caste certificate guidelines.
