Hello Shauryaman,
With a NEET 2025 score of 147 and roughly 10,80,853 as the All India Rank, it can be a bit difficult to get a medical or dental seat at any government or a top-ranked private college in India. The lowest qualifying cutoff for NEET for the general category has been in the range of 138-147 during the last few years. At the same time, for the reserved categories OBC/SC/ST, it is somewhat lower about 108-137.
If you are in the General (UR) category, your score is only at the threshold or very close to it, which means that you can be called for counselling but, to put it mildly, you will not be able to get an MBBS or BDS seat either through the All India Quota (AIQ) or state counselling even in private colleges as their cutoffs are most of the time above 300-400 marks.
Nevertheless, choices are still with you. Certain private deemed universities and self-supporting colleges may provide seats under management or NRI quotas, but these are associated with very high fees.
On the other hand, you can take a look at the paramedical and allied health sciences courses like B.Sc Nursing, BPT (Physiotherapy), BMLT, B.Sc Radiology, or B.Sc Biotechnology that have a bright future in the medical field and also accept lower NEET or non-NEET scores.
In case MBBS is still your target, a gap year is an option for you. Then, you can get back to preparing with the help of a focused coaching session and set your eyes on a score of 500+ that will raise your chances of NEET significantly. Hope it helps!!!
