Hii,
If you are trying to take admission into BSc Nursing in Uttarakhand and have scored 78 marks in the entrance exam conducted by Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical University ( HNBUMU). You need to understand how the seat allotment system works, in government colleges
In these exams, anyone from any state can appear for the exam. The eligibility for government quota seats for BSc nursing in Uttarakhand is restricted mainly to candidates who:Have a domicile certificate of Uttarakhand, or have completed their higher schooling in Uttarakhand. If you do not come under any two of these criteria, you are generally not eligible for government seats. These seats are reserved for Uttarakhand residents as per the state government policy.
Now coming to your score — as you scored 78 marks, whether or not you will get admission depends on:
The cut-off marks of that year (which changes every year depending on the competition and difficulty of the paper),from which category you belongs (General/OBC/SC/ST),The number of applicants, the seat availability in government colleges of Uttarakhand .like you said you don't have a domicile certificate, your application will be likely to be considered under the management quota or general category for private colleges. Some private nursing colleges in Uttarakhand accept non-domicile students also based on their merit and seat availability. You can might have a chance there If you apply in the private colleges.
You should also keep tracking on state counselling rounds and check the official HNBUMU website regularly for updates. If you are from another state, also try to applying in your own state’s nursing counselling or appear for national-level exams like AIIMS BSc Nursing, JIPMER,Afmc Pune or other institutes where domicile certificate is not required.
According to me Without a Uttarakhand domicile, it’s nearly tough to get a government seat even with 78 marks. But you can try private colleges in the state or apply in your own state for better chances
All the best for your nursing journey!
