it would be better to attempt from all the sections. You can leave if you want to. There would be no issue. it is your way of attending the paper. you have to plan carefully so that you make less mistake in the exam paper.
there should be some easy chapter in each subjects. atleast cover them. if you get question from those portion then you can answer it.
Getting a good score/rank depends on your performance. You will confidence to do well if you have practiced very well.
Rank to get admission into NIT campus is 2 lakhs (Upper limit). For category wise, rank is lower then 30k for different branch and campus.
