NEET syllabus is prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The exam includes questions from the class XI and XII syllabus of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The paper is divided into 4 sections- Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, each containing 45 questions.
  • PHYSICS:

  • Physics Paper Analysis:

Physics is usually the toughest out of the three subjects. Students can expect lengthy calculations in this section. Class XI syllabus was given more weightage in NEET 2017. A lot of questions came from class XI Mechanics, Modern Physics and Electrodynamics.  The paper had more questions from the syllabus of class XI than class XII. Heres a section-wise analysis of the paper. There were 8 difficult, 27 medium level and 10 easy questions from this section.

  • CHEMISTRY:

  • Chemistry Paper Analysis :

Unlike Physics, Chemistry had more questions from the class XII syllabus last year. Candidates can Download Answer Key of NEET for last year to check their answers after solving the paper. For many years, Inorganic Chemistry had the highest weightage but this trend was broken last year when this section saw maximum questions from Organic Chemistry.

The questions from class XI were not very tough but the ones from class XII were quite tricky. Most of the questions were conceptual and application based so candidates must have total clarity about the basic concepts.
