Regardless of their grade-point average in class twelve, candidates can participate in JEE Main. Candidates should be aware that appearing in the exam does not require meeting the JEE Main eligibility requirements in 12th grade. The 75% requirement for eligibility only applies at the time of admission to the institute; however, the Government of India abolished this requirement for the academic years 2020 and 2021 in light of the COVID-19 circumstances. The 75% requirement will probably also be abolished for 2022. Candidates must, however, meet the minimum percentage criterion of the selected institute in order to be considered for admission.
