Candidates for bachelor of technology who are in their last year of studies or have previously completed the b.tech programme were eligible to sit for the gate test until 2020. There are no age restrictions for applying for gate. If a student from Andhra College of Engineering qualifies for the Gate 2020 exam, he or she has already completed the b.tech programme.

see upto 2020, the candidates of bachelor of technology who are in final year of studies or has already passed the b.tech course was eligible to appear in gate exam. there is no age limit to apply for gate. however if any of the students from andhra college of engineering has qualified in gate 2020, he/ she has already passed the b.tech course. however its not that only government college students can qualify in gate , but the students who would study hard would surely qualify in gate exam. from 2021 gate exam, third year b.tech  students may also appear in gate .
