Civilian students can potentially apply for admission to the Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune, but their chances of getting selected are  very low compared to wards of military personnel.

AIT prioritizes admissions for wards (children) of serving/retired Army personnel, Defence civilians, Assam Rifles, BSF, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and GREF personnel. Civilian students can apply, but their selection depends on the availability of seats after considering wards of military personnel. There is a high competition for limited seats, and the last admitted student's rank in the previous year was around 1,89,573 (All India Ranking obtained in JEE Main).
