Percentile is determined based on the total marks scored by a candidate, total number of candidates appeared and number of candidates who have scored equal or less marks than you. JEE Main results will be released in terms of percentile score and rank. You can know the expected percentile based on the marks you have scored. If JEE Main is conducted two times then the best of two percentile score will be considered if a candidate appear for two sessions. If a candidate appears for only one session then the percentile score that is secured in that particular session will be considered as final score.
