the answer to this may vary as it depends on lot of factors .if you eant to take one or two year gap then it doesn't cause you much problems (but can cause some) .if you want to get admissions in any institute then check out their eligibiolity criteria however most of the colleges accepts only the character certificate or drop year proof .

some say it will affect your placements but i dont think it makes much difference in placements
