I am assuming you are from general category. Based on your overall academic profile, you will need to score atleast 99.9 percentile to get a call for the next round.

Syed as you know IIM B is one of the top 3 IIMs and to get a call in top IIMs you need to score atleast 99.67+ percentile. There is again no surety of selection or getting a call from these colleges because CAT marks are not the only parameter involved in the selection procedure. After CAT exam every college in which you have applied prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview based on your aggregate score which comprises of many parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non-engineer whose weightage varies for all different colleges.

Now you have a low percentage in 12th class so that will again make it almost impossible to get a call from IIM B because IIM B gives preference to a very high work experience students and the students who have done outstandingly well in 10th, 12th and academics like scoring above 95+ percentage. These type of students also get a call at alow percentile.

After CAT 2015 result one of my friend with 99.81 percentile didn't get call from IIM B and IIM A because his all the three 10th, 12th and graduation percentage were poor whereas another friend got a call for second round of WAT and interview from IIM B with 98.5 percentile because he had 98 percentage in 10th, 97 in 12th and 9.3 CGPA in graduation. Although he was not able to clear second round at that time and next year when I got admission in IIM Kozhikode by scoring higher percentile he got admission in IIM A.

So, with low marks in academic there is only one way to get a call from IIM A and B is to score 100 percentile. For 100 percentile scorer, everything is kept as an exception.

Don't get disappointed, score very high then you will still get calls from other good IIMs. All the best!!
