Hey Aspirant,

Ofcourse yes dear, a boy can take admission too in bsc nursing. But you have to keep one thung in mind that there is no central institute that provide thise course for males candidate this includes all like AIIMS , JIPMER , PGI , AFMC (for UG students) .

And many states are not providing this course to male candidates for an example Bengal. Mostly private colleges provide bsc nursing for males with limited seats and the fee of private colleges is about 1lacs for fours years .

The eligibility criteria for this is :

  • you should pass the 10+2 from Physics, chemistry, biology as mandatory subjects.
  • English is also a mandatory subject in class 12.
  • Person should be medically fit.

Hello dear,

Yes boys can do B.Sc nursing in India, but before considering going to this route let me tell you the challenges you may face.

  • of all there's no central Institute that provides this course for male candidates, that includes all e.g :- AIIMS, JIPMER, PGI, AFMC (& I'm talking about UG)
  • there are still many states which does not provide B.Sc nursing course for male candidates, for eg:- West Bengal , & hence students have to look for an alternative option on different states, Yes some states does provides courses but they are only limited to GNM.
  • You made up your mind and want to come to this field, Congrats mate!! The real struggle is going to begin soon, Mostly pvt colleges provides B.Sc nursing course to male candidates & that too they have a very limited seats say 5–6, about the fees ( Approx you can take 10 lacks for 4 years), excluding you own personal costs.

India has still a long way to go, maybe someday males will join B.sc nursing , if govt provides opportunities well.

One might quote me that I had defamed this novel field, trust me I had no intention in doing it, If you are willing to go, you are most welcomed, I shared the experience of my friend as he is also in same course.

Have a great day,

Dear aspirant hope you are doing. Well. For the job prospective / instant income bsc nursing is better than B pharmacy and if you want to do research in future . If you want to pursue research in future then b pharm is better option for you. If you just want job security then bsc nursing is better option for you.
