You will not get to choose in which institute you want to get seat allotment. If you are allotted seat in CAP Round 1 other than first preference and wish to participate in CAP round 2 then higher preferences seat listed in the option will be allotted based on the merit of the candidate, seat availability and category of the candidate. Which means that in CAP Round 2 the options above the allotted seat in CAP Round 1 will be considered for CAP Round 2 seat allotment. The options below the allotted seat in CAP Round 1 will not be considered for CAP Round 2. If a seat is allotted in the higher preference in CAP Round 2 then the seat allotted in CAP Round 1 will be cancelled automatically. If no seat is allotted then the previous seat allotment will be retained.
