Hello student,
Of course, 20 months is very much enough to crack JEE Advanced. Initially you have to study for 4–5 hours daily, doing your regular homework. Now you can study for 4–6 hours on regular basis other than the 5 hours of coaching. You can complete the course homework and do regular revision, apart from it can revise old topics on regular basis. You can also study for atleast 6 hours on sunday. After the coaching classes, religiously give 6–10 hours regularly for IIT JEE preparation. Much preparation for boards is not very important. Study just chemistry, english, few topics of physics, few topics of maths and physical education, not more than 30 hours. A low percentage in boards didn’t matter at that time as cutoff was 60%.
There were many things other than the study hours which I guess could help you:-
Thorough revision and strengthening of all the weak topics during the last 4 months.
Working on the mistakes that you used to do in exam, such as while working out previous year questions.
The study hours are purely dependant on your skills, you can revise notes, solve regular problems and if time remains the past pendencies. Just sitting won’t help, atleast 4–6 hours must be like rock solid study hours. So get deep into your study material while studying. Ensure that you retain what you study( not mugging). Revise it properly to keep it alive. Try to do your regular assignments and revision.
Hope this will be helpful...
