Hi aspirant,

After finishing a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, you can apply for admission to a degree program, typically through a lateral entry program.  This allows you to begin the second year of a B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) degree, generally skipping the first year of study.

All the best!

  • Yes , you can pursue a degree (B.Tech/B.E.) after a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering .

  • Lateral Entry allows direct admission to the 2nd year of B.Tech.

  • Eligibility : Typically 50-60% in your diploma.

  • Entrance Exams : Some colleges require Lateral Entry Entrance Exams (e.g., LEET).

  • Duration : The degree will take 3 years instead of 4.
